Smallpox and the Crooks on the Potomac

The above article (by David Willman of the Los Angeles Times, November 13, 2011) shows how this administration is committed to crony capitalism in it’s finest form.
The Obama administration gave a $443 million dollar, no bid contract to a company whose controlling shareholder is billionaire Ronald O. Perelman who is a “big time” democrat and President Obama supporter.
No doubt everyone will come up with excuses for this administration for this crime (in my view) or it’ll be Bush’s fault, bankers on Wall Street’s fault, the Tea Party’s fault, big pharm’s fault, big oil’s fault, right wing nut jobs fault, or anybody… except this administration’s fault for doling out OUR hard-earned tax dollars to their buddies and donors.
This would be front page, national news if anyone else were in the “massa’s house” on the Potomac and if the president was anyone but a democrat every brother on every corner in the hood would be yelping at the top of their lungs at how corrupt the government is but I can already hear the excuses that will be made for this administration now. “Oh well, smallpox may make a comeback”, “it must be important if this president who is the most intelligent ever says it is”, “it’s just a coincidence that the company is owned by one of his BILLIONAIRE friends”, “he didn’t really do this, it was someone in his administration that did this without his approval”, and the list goes on and on and I’m sick and tired of the excues.
This is the type of stuff that this president promised he would put an end to if he were elected yet we have Solyndra and other energy companies that have noticeable, flawed business models, continued bail outs of Fannie and Freddie, underhand funding for the corrupt group Acorn and union bosses, and now this (and these are only the ones that we know about!!!!
The president said during his campaign that he would “put an end to no-bid contracts by the federal government”. This is why I cannot support this man and I am loathed to understand how even his supporters can tolerate this kind of stuff.
This is OUR money that he and other politicians BOTH parties are doling out to their friends. This is not a left or right debate this is a right or wrong debate and this nor many more of these “deals” that are in the pipeline pass the smell test yet the media (for the most part) continues to ignore these issues.
To all of my liberal friends if you do not speak out against this you no longer have any credibility with me on any issue, you will have lost the last shred of respect that I have for you and the once proud democrat party.
I continually hold any politician that I vote for accountable for their actions (as I did with President Bush and many others) yet you continue to ignore what this administration does to not for you and worse take it with a smile.
