Hypocrisy to the Highest Degree (Gas Prices Under Bush and Obama)

I didn’t think that I could be more amazed at the hypocrisy of those that support our current President than I have been up to this point but alas I guess I’ve been proved wrong.

I was not a fan of many of the things that President Bush instituted that in my opinion set forth a path for the confiscation of our liberties that are presently upon us now.

However, how is it that when President Bush was in office and gas prices rose to what now would be considered a paltry average of $2.56 a gallon we heard everything from he was in collusion with “big oil” to the oil industry was just greedily raising prices when any economist that was not in bed with the liberal agenda and yours truly I might add told anyone that would listen that market factors (and some speculation to be fair) was the culprit but everyone including President Obama railed that it was as it always is when he doesn’t want to take the blame “Bush’s fault”.

Now we see that President Obama who under his leadership has seen gas prices raise and stay above $3.00 a gallon since he’s been in office is going to make a speech today that rising gas prices have little to do with any policy that our government can create and more to do with market forces.

Now I know that many of you have a love affair with this President that borders on the ridiculous but you will definitely lose the last shred of respect that I may have for you if you are so hypocritical as to not call out President Obama just as you called out President Bush on the rising price of fuel.

Not to mention that even before President Obama was elected to office that he said to make green energy more affordable and to bankrupt coal producers that and I quote  “gas prices would have to necessarily skyrocket” yet his supporters, many of whom used rising gas prices against President Bush and Republicans as a rallying cry to usher Democrats into power now want to absolve this man who has lied over and over again to get his way and institute crippling policies that crush the middle-class and destroys the poor that he purports to fight for of any responsibility for his part in the rising cost of fuel.

His administration has blatantly lied about opening up the Gulf of Mexico for more drilling than any other administration when we all know that after the BP disaster that they did just the opposite and just recently killed the Keystone pipeline that not only would’ve driven down the price of oil but also immediately provided Americans with much-needed jobs.

I have numerous friends and family members in the oil industry in the Texas/Louisiana area and I would invite you to talk to them about how much they’ve had in the last three years.  They’ve seen they’re industry crippled and as leases run out they are loath to be renewed and new leases are few and far between because of this administration’s reluctance to pay for more foreign oil as our own wells sit silent because of This President’s “slow growth” policies.

I never thought that I’d see so many people with so little integrity to not hold one man up to the same standard as they did another man but I guess that is the difference between myself and the people who I debate with on a daily basis as where I routinely criticized President Bush when I felt that he instituted policies that were Constitutionally bankrupt the supporters of this President refuse to do so even when he institutes or creates and EXACT replica of policy that President Bush made.

I refuse to let this man get away with trying to recreate history and act like he’s always been on the side of lowering gas prices when everything that he has said and done up until now has been the opposite of what his stated positions are going to be today in his speech.

I cannot understand how so many people can continue to be mesmerized by what this man says when the facts and his very own words that are categorized on paper and video convict him of dishonesty.

I say to any man who chooses to defend this man on his energy policies that you are a hypocrite if you called out President Bush and you do not President Obama for you have no leg to stand on and this should at least be one area that you have to admit that he has gotten it wrong but alas, those that drink the Obama “kool-aid” will believe anything that he says.
