James 3:13:  13 If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.

James 3:17:  17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace-loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.

Many people have made getting an education the most important thing in their lives and while in this realm going to a school of higher learning is somewhat crucial to ones chances of earning more capital over a lifetime it is not the “higher learning” that should be most important in the life of a follower of Jesus Christ.

Now don’t get me wrong I believe that an education is important and I would never try to tell anyone that they shouldn’t strive to do their best in academic endeavors but the sad fact is that it is our educational system from elementary through post-doctorate studies that is often the very tool that is used to educate our children and young adults in the things that matter most and pertain to this world while de-educating them in the things that really matter in their relationship with Christ Jesus.

Proving the point we can clearly see that over the years in this country that most references to God have been removed from our educational system and oftentimes even a common prayer to a “God” of your choosing is no longer allowed let alone a prayer that is directed towards the only true God our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It is bad enough that this is the case in “K” through “twelve” schooling but the disdain for anything relating to Jesus is taken to another level in our system of “higher learning” while this same system seems to have no problem in relishing the teaching of “other gods” or other religions to our young adults who are in increasingly more numbers are abandoning their faith said halls of “higher learning” often leading to destructive behavior that often becomes a barricade to a deeper relationship with Jesus which can in the end lead them toward the path to death as they are taught to deny God instead of keeping their relationship with Him and accepting His gift of life.

There are so many people and many of them “Christians” no less who seem to think that it is “fair” to put our belief that Jesus Christ is the only way to receive eternal life on par with other religions when our charter directly from Jesus Himself in the scripture references listed at the beginning and at the end of this text was not one of trying to appease everyone into some sort of “kum bah yah” moment where we all just worship our own god and get along.

No, each of us were put here for the specific purpose of doing God’s will, furthering His Kingdom (one and the same),  and creating more disciples as we utilize the talents/gifts that we have been blessed with to win souls for God.

Further and also, since Jesus was unabashed that He was the only way to eternal life with God so should we all the more be the same and teach the same as we navigate through the trials and tribulations of our daily lives.

This doesn’t mean that we do as the “crusaders” of the past did and some in other religions still do today and force anyone to conjure up a belief in Christ.

No, it is our job to spread His message and allow people to make their own minds/choices to follow the truth yet we (many of us) in the “church” have become silent dogs with no bark especially in our educational systems who were born out of (you guessed it) our churches while those that oppose God howl like savage wolves and gobble up young one after young one out of the womb of our faith as we allow our children to leave the nest unprepared for the fight of their lives that they are about to embark on in furthering their Earthly education.

We who make up the “body-of-Christ” must do a better job of creating strong roots in our children that will stand up to the daily barrage of the enemy’s fiery arrows as they navigate through his educational system (it’s his world so the educational system is his).

We must also pray diligent prayers to God to show us how to arm our children with His weapons much better than we have in the past so that they can go into these battlefields ready to fight with strong spirits emboldened by God’s Holy Spirit instead of always caving into the directive that has been given to us by the anti-God zealots whom now control vast swathes of our government (and educational system) that write so much of the anti-God curriculum that we as parents see more and more when our children bring their class work home.

If you as a parent are not looking at their course materials….start doing so.

If you are not challenging what is said in any course-book with how it relates to or is “anti” to what is said in God’s Holy word the Bible……then start doing so.

If you as a parent are not reminding your kids that while it is fine and even necessary to earn a physical diploma be it elementary through higher avenues in this realm but that true wisdom comes from God and it is more important to get and maintain a spiritual degree from the University of Jesus Christ which will never “rot or decay” like the Earthly one that we are told to strive for…..then start doing so.

Teach your kids to love and read God’s word and to listen for “His” still, small, quiet voice so that they may find peace in the chaos that is surely to come as they chase academic endeavors and future employment in an ever more dangerous and caustic world.

Warn them that they will be exposed to many different doctrines, beliefs, false-gods, societal norms, foreign customs that will often clash with their relationship with Christ but that there is only one true God and it is He not them or those that oppose Him that bore a horrible, gruesome death and then hung on a tree at Calvary as a ransom sacrifice for them just because He loved them that much.

Keep in touch with them, help them find a good “away-from-your-family-church” church home so that they will “not forsake the assembling of one another” with like-minded brothers and sisters who can help them stay accountable which is often a crucial item that is over-looked by families but should be one of the first points of business when visiting a school of higher learning.

Pray with your children daily, pray for your children daily, pray for their schools daily, pray for God to use them in mighty ways at their schools daily, and pray that they will seek after God’s wisdom which will not only help them in their Earthly studies but will more importantly grant them more than a piece of paper that an Earthly diploma is as it can only grant them a temporary job here when compared with a Christ-centered, spiritual diploma that grants the bearer a perfect and permanent job with much better benefits for eternal life with the author and creator of all that has ever and ever will exist.

For further consideration the following scriptures also prove helpful:

Matthew 28:19: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

John 14:6:  Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me/ go and make disciples throughout the world/I am the way the truth and the light no one comes unto the Father except through me”
