If You Are In Christ….You Are Neither Black Nor White

We are neither black nor white…we as believers in Jesus are of the Christian race and therefore are princes/princesses as well as co-heirs to the throne with Christ.

If every brother or sister-in-Christ would individually strive to ensure that they in their walk were truly exhibiting this truth then racism’s bite would become much less than a bark and even much less than a whimper in the hands of satan and rendered utterly ineffective against God’s people.

There is nothing wrong with us celebrating the cultural or racial differences that we all have due to environmental factors of our physical growth.

However, when we as “Christians” continue to identify more with our “blackness” or “whiteness” or whatever other “ness” that only those that are unsaved should be identifying with we are committing a grave sin against the God that we claim to love and it is my prayer and duty to unabashedly and unreservedly spread this truth as one who is gaining discipline in Christ.

The devil loves it when we celebrate our race, culture, nationality, or any other “thing” ABOVE the things of God and sadly too many Christians nowadays have fallen into and continue to live in this carefully crafted trap while I choose to eschew and fight alongside the Lord to defeat this sinful mindset.

Just as the servant of the Lord Most High Joshua said in Joshua 24:15 “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” I choose to serve the Lord this day and always but my question to you my dear brother or sister is this:

Whom are you serving? If you identify with your race and other things in conflict with your brother or sister in Christ then you cannot claim to be one with the mind of Christ in this area and you must repent, ask for forgiveness and ask the Holy Spirit to grow you in this area until you exhibit the behavior of Christ instead of the devil whose behavior and characteristics you are currently exhibiting.

We are commanded to love our brothers and sisters and as I read the Holy texts I can find none of the caveats that many within the Body currently use to justify their racist attitudes toward their brothers and sisters-in- Christ and I can with great confidence speak to the fact that the Lord our God has shown me that these that practice this evil thing will be held accountable on the day of judgement.

Even if a brother or sister in Christ exhibits a racist attitude towards you then apparently God is expecting YOU to show and teach THEM through YOUR Jesus-like behavior of praying for them and not condemning them as the world does to plant the seeds of change in THEIR heart but how can this be accomplished if YOU walk in unforgiveness with the “racist” which God has NOT commanded you to do…..He has commanded you in Matthew 6:14: “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” to in no uncertain terms to forgive others that have wronged you no matter the cost so that you will in turn be given forgiveness by Him.

Lord, right now at this very moment I pray that every person reading this would ask you to look deep into their hearts and ask you to show them if they are currently participating in the sin of identifying more with anything or anyone else than you. This includes race, culture, nationality, political party affiliation, family history, and anything else that exalts itself against your Holy name. I also ask that they pray not to be ashamed if they are currently or have participated in this sin area but to realize that “your mercies are anew daily” and that if they confess it you have forgiven them. I further ask for boldness in the heart of every believer to have the courage to speak out when a brother or sister in Christ exhibits this devilish behavior and not bow down to societal pressures or fear from the enemy a fear which you have not given your children but to walk in your love in all things so that we may be a light that shines in the perpetual darkness that the people of this realm often walk in. I also pray today for the breaking down of the walls of pride that have risen up at this very moment in the one that is reading this that refuses to listen to the words that you have given me your humble servant (who can say nor do anything without you) and has made the decision to do as he or she pleases in their own heart according to the traditions that they have been taught and not listen to the words that you have given to all who call on your name in the Holy texts. May you be merciful to them and bring them and those that think like them both the saved and unsaved until their eyes can be opened to the truth so that they may come to repentance and ask for forgiveness. I thank you for your grace, your mercy, and your love and I pray that all of my brothers and sisters have a Jesus-filled day!

By the hand of your servant,

Ron “Big Black” Garrett
