Forgive Paula Deen Just As God Forgave You (Ye hypocrites!)

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. (Mark 11:25)

Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. (Matthew 6:12)

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matthew 6:14-15)

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32)

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13)

There is a lot of humming all about with the whole Paula Deen “racist” deal yet instead of a lot of “forgiveness” towards her I see a lot of “un-forgiveness” and by people who purport to call themselves followers of Christ no less.

It’s also amazing to me that many of these “Christians” are just as if not more racist than this misguided soul as I peruse social media, watch television, and listen to the radio on this subject fail to forgive this woman or “forgive” her with conditions or pre-conditions yet Jesus admonishes us to “forgive, lest ye be forgiven”.

Jesus didn’t say that it would be okay to NOT “forgive” someone if we feel that the person whom we are forgiving is sincere or not in their apology; He didn’t tell us that we have to like the person that we are to forgive them (if He weren’t God He probably wouldn’t like many of us!) He didn’t tell us not to forgive if we’ve experienced racism in the past and have trouble getting past it (as I did once before); He didn’t tell us to wait and see if the rest of us “Black (insert other races but there is no such thing; a Christian should be a Christian and not idolize his/her race) Christians” would forgive her but for us as followers of Jesus Christ to forgive her as He has forgiven us regardless of what the rest of the world thinks.

Too many “Christians” seem to have no problem being racist towards other races while condemning others when they are racist towards them or their designated race when God neither approves us or has ever taught us through His word to “hate” while calling out other’s “hate but to return “love” for “hate” and forgiveness towards those that offend us even if they are or have done something that is unforgivable because “all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God”! Bunch of hypocrites!

When we as a people sit back in our neighborhoods, or our gatherings, or our homes, amongst ourselves at work and talk about other races like everything but a child of God we have no room to accuse others of racism. This is too prevalent in neighborhoods black, white, or the other and it needs to stop.

So to all of the “Christians” out there start acting like your “Father” instead of the devil and forgive this woman and others who have had past racial incidents for prayer will help them and not your evil, reciprocal, racist rhetoric.

Many of the same cowards that are lambasting this woman stand idly by when they hear racist comments from people in their associated “group” towards others but are too cowardly to say anything to them lest they be branded a traitor to their race (a problem that I do not have because I live for Christ and not my group/neighborhood/etc.,) for speaking out against racism from within their own ranks.

The Bible teaches us in Matthew 7: 3-5 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

We as followers of Christ cannot pick and choose which teachings of Jesus to follow as He expects us by the guiding of the Holy Spirit to strive to be as much like Him as possible yet I fail to see the level of grace that He has shown towards us when we commit sin or miss the mark towards this woman or other people who do wrong things that He in His infinite mercy has shown us.

We as Christians (whether you like it or not) MUST know that God loathes this type of duplicitous, hypocritical, and “devil-originated behavior whenever we practice un-forgiveness and make excuses for it due to societal pressures, etc., so I urge you to repent, ask for forgiveness or you can continue to bristle at my words as the Lord is telling me that some of you are getting ready to do when I post this and sell out to your “black pride”, “white pride”, or whatever “pride” you claim association with because you have allowed it to become your “god” instead of listening to what the Holy Spirit is telling you to do that is right and good in God’s eyes.

In conclusion, know that your thoughts about Mrs. Deen and her past racist behavior will show the measure of God’s space in your heart because (Matt: 7: 1-2 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Simply put, God would not be trashing one of His children who made some mistakes but forgive them and teach them how to correct and help them to grow from the un-God-like behavior as part of the process to become more like Christ.

If you find yourself mad at what I’m saying…..deal with it.

If you find yourself loathing to listen to the truth….not my problem!

If you cannot forgive this child of God (Paula Deen) as God has forgiven you….it’s your party in hell and not mine…you have free will to do as you please!

So do your “thang”, forgive if you can, face eternal death if you don’t (God won’t be able to forgive you if you don’t forgive) but “as for me and my house we will serve the Lord”….so I forgive you Mrs. Deen……now bake me peach cobbler and some them homemade scones with some ice-cream please!

Yeah… I wish there was a page where we could show support for Paula. Yeah, she probably was “racist”… but the lady was raised in the deep South 60 years ago. She’s probably called us all kinds of things. But that doesn’t mean she can’t be a different person today. And even if she’s not… I think there’s a better way to respond than throwing her under the bus. Just prove her wrong. The “n” word is a class, not a color.
