The World Hates the Disciples

We as believers and disciples in Christ must always remember the tenants of the scripture reference in John 15 verses 18-25:

18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[b] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’[c]

We must know that we will not always be popular.

We must know that we will be persecuted sometimes even from family and friends because of our faith.

We must know that we will be sought for persecution from governmental authorities.

We must realize that even within our midst within our beloved church we will face persecution from those that have infiltrated our ranks with the intent to destroy us from within (this is a war and we are constantly in battle)

…and we must assuredly know that since our Lord has forewarned us of these things that we must gird our loins and put on the full armor of God so that we may withstand the fiery flames and attacks of the world and the people within the world that are not believers.

This should give us all pause when we judge others actions/behaviors and it should make room for us to allow for more compassion as we present the truth of the gospel to those who have not or are loath to receive this beautiful gift that our Lord Jesus provided for all when He died a horrible, gruesome death on a tree at Calvary.

So be encouraged dear brothers and sisters and know that every time people show negativity towards you that you can boast in the Lord because you are a severe threat to the enemy and he and his minions are trying to silence you because he hates to see you win souls of the lost for God’s Kingdom!

He loves you today!

He see’s your struggles and wants you to know that you are not alone.

He desires that you bring all your toil, all your trouble, all your hurt, all your pain, all your sadness, all your joy, and all of your praise, love, and worship to the altar at His feet.

When you give all of these things or “all of you” to Him He is happy because He has already given all that He is to and for you!

Have a Jesus-filled day!
