Thoughts from my Bible reading today (8 Oct 2014)

During my Bible reading today God spoke a word into my heart. The passages are from Jeremiah Chapter 14 verses 13-16 which read:

13 I said, “But Master, God! Their preachers have been telling them that everything is going to be all right—no war and no famine—that there’s nothing to worry about.”

14 Then God said, “These preachers are liars, and they use my name to cover their lies. I never sent them, I never commanded them, and I don’t talk with them. The sermons they’ve been handing out are sheer illusion, tissues of lies, whistlings in the dark.

15-16 “So this is my verdict on them: All the preachers who preach using my name as their text, preachers I never sent in the first place, preachers who say, ‘War and famine will never come here’—these preachers will die in war and by starvation. And the people to whom they’ve been preaching will end up as corpses, victims of war and starvation, thrown out in the streets of Jerusalem unburied—no funerals for them or their wives or their children! I’ll make sure they get the full brunt of all their evil. (Scripture ends)

God spoke into my heart that this is the state of the world but more specifically the “Church” today and this is how He feels about it. Preachers and people who supposedly represent God are under the guise of “fairness”, equality, righteousness, etc., are telling the “people” that “this” is okay and that “that” is okay.

They are telling them that things that God clearly labeled as sin is actually no sin at all and He put it plainly to my heart that He has said what sin is and has not changed His mind on it no matter how politically correct it is nor how many times people…even within the church is telling everyone that He agrees with or even condones a particular sin or not.

This doesn’t mean that people have no recourse because Jesus’ blood can and will cover all sin if one accepts Him as Lord and Savior for their lives but He clearly spoke into my heart that so many people use His blood and the knowledge of what it represents and does as an excuse to continue living sinful lives.

Lastly, He reminded me that when He walked this earth, cured the sick, and healed the sinner that one of the most important things He would say to a sinner was “go and sin no more”.

He again reminded me…He has not changed His mind and that those who are a part of the movement of people who lead people astray by teaching a gospel different than the one that came out of His and His prophets mouth are doomed for destruction.
