We Get “Amazing Men” When They “Overcome Amazing Circumstances”

“We don’t get amazing men in this world if they don’t overcome amazing circumstances”.

Randy Barks. “The Last Alaskans”

As I watched the latest episode of “The Last Alaskans” (Animal Planet) the patriarch of the family “Randy Barks” made this statement and I felt God speak into my heart that we (His children) as Christians often don’t even allow ourselves to reach for the “amazing” in life simply because we have been taught by this world to settle for what IT says is possible.

God’s way of doing things is just the opposite for His word teaches us in Matthew 19:26 (MSG) 26 Jesus looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.”

I’ve found in myself and what I’ve observed in most of my brothers and sisters is that while we quite often profess to trust God in all things the reality is that we truly only trust Him with very little.

This is not a “beat down” of everybody because as we grow in “Him” our trust level also grows YET just as a tree can only grow in proper soil our trust can only grow in the soil that it was designed to grow in and that is the “soil of truth”.

The “soil of truth” being that we COMPLETELY learn how to trust in God even to the point that we trust Him with the fact that we DON’T trust Him (for whatever reason) and are relying or have relied on our own will to try, do, or wait for something be it an answer of prayer etc., under a thin veil of trusting Him when in our hearts we know the truth.

When we prepare the soil of our hearts with this truth God can do amazing things with us but when we continue along our path towards Him being rooted in dishonesty towards Him to “save face” with Him (like He doesn’t already know the truth) then we allow our growth that could be exponential to become retarded at best and we often blame God for the retardation when in reality it is our own tendency towards evil that is to blame.

Is this you today?

Are you willing to do as I have done today when He spoke this word into my heart and pray a prayer of complete honesty to Him that there are times and things that you have said that you trust Him with but you know in your heart that you don’t and have been living a lie with?

Give it up to Him…Go ahead! He is trustworthy and trustful to be trusted with EVEN your distrust in Him because He loves you with an everlasting and unquenching love!

Then, after you pray, praise Him and thank Him for helping you to realize that He in His faithfulness will not even allow your distrust in His trustfulness to hinder your growth in Him…for this is what He has instilled in my heart today.

He loves you and so do I dear brother and sister!

He wanted me to let you know that there is no shame in being completely and unfettering in your honesty with Him even when religion has taught you things that He has never even considered.

Have a Jesus-filled day!
