Quit Worrying About The “Rich” And Praise God For What You Already Have

James 4:3 ESV: You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.

1 Timothy 6:10 ESV: For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Mark 7:20-23 ESV: And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”

Romans 7:7 ESV: What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”

I love people who like to call out for the “rich” to give up more and more of their money YET they won’t even tithe or even worse give up paltry offerings.

Not only are they allowing a covetous spirit to inhabit their minds/hearts/souls but they also “cheat” God by not providing for His house so that His workers can do what He assigns them to do.

AND…those that are guilty of this (I have been in my former life) should also know that in always worrying about what someone has is a definite slap in the face to the “already” blessings that God has provided you with on a daily basis…in short we would be wise to focus more in the beginning, during, and at the end of the day on the fact that He in His unmerited grace and mercy simply allowed us to see another day than focusing on other’s “stuff”.

We as believers often fall into the enemy’s trap of coveting what others have as we are led to the belief that it is “right” by our environment, society (“me”, “me” culture),  television, our politicians, and sadly many “preachers” and/or those within the faith who use covetousness as a weapon to gain wealth, power and/or personal fame…all in the “name of God”…get real!

If you are one of these people who have the audacity to complain about the “rich” you need to check yourself and quit worrying about what food another man has on his plate and simply praise and thank God for what He has provided you as well as be willing to share it…THAT, not some government scheme to tax the “rich” and pass along the money to you is where your blessing will come from.
