I Wonder What Would Be The Result IF All Of Us “Christians” Focused On The Things Of God More Than We Focused Racism And “Other Evils”?

I wonder what would happen if all of the “Christians” who are, to use a quote from the president, “focused like a laser” on everything that is “race related” started putting some of that energy towards the things that they SHOULD be focusing on and that is the things that concern Jesus Christ (in doing so they would be able as a result in doing God’s work be given true power to solve racism and a myriad of social issues).

While “we” are sitting here fighting over “racism”, flags, etc., there are people dying (both physically and spiritually), people starving (again both physically and spiritually), children that are bereft of guidance (once again both physically and spiritually), and a whole world of souls that are destined for eternal death that needs our attention (this doesn’t mean that we close our eyes to these problems but we surely don’t turn our backs on THESE important things either).

Racism is simply another evil in a long line of evil that the enemy uses to distract people away from advancing the gospel and TRULY setting people free.

The person who was a slave (no matter the period of history) that found Christ though still a slave was set free…not from his human slave owners but from a life that would end in certain eternal death.

There will always be people who don’t like someone for whatever reason and whether it’s because of the color of their skin or not is irrelevant.

You see…this (racism and all its related issues) is a “heart” issue and “man” CANNOT fix another man’s heart…only the precious blood of Jesus Christ can do this.

No amount of debate, no amount of castigating the offender, no matter how many Confederate flags one removes from the public eye, and no matter how many laws are proposed to “fight” this evil THIS evil will STILL remain in “man’s” heart as long as said heart is devoid of the pure love of Jesus Christ.

The level of “unrepentant unforgiveness” towards the perpetrators of what is the sin of past and current racism that is currently spewing out of the hearts and mouths of “Christians” who dare utilize symbols, words, or phrases that show that they are aligned with Christ Jesus is appalling not only to me but, as He has spoken it into my heart, Christ Himself and for those that will hear me right now…HE WILL HOLD THOSE THAT ARE DOING THIS ACCOUNTABLE!!!

How can one call themselves a DISCIPLE of Jesus when they do not adhere to His teachings?

One person cannot say that they have “forgiven” another person for a particular transgression committed by one to another and then continually bring the transgression up to control or “shame” the offender every time the “offender” says or does something that the “offendee” does not like.

Even worse that that is when the “offendee” charges other people who had no hand in the original offense WITH the offense simply because they belong to the same man-made racial group as the offender…how is that “Christ-like”?

No dear friends, this behavior is NOT forgiveness, or at least NOT forgiveness in the way that Jesus teaches us (His followers) to forgive.

This type of forgiveness is a perversion of true forgiveness and is a result of a person or group of person who go to church, who read their Bibles, who “sing the songs” of worship, and who perform “good works” YET are not hearing a single word from God’s Holy Spirit…and their actions/words prove it.

These “Christians” disparage all or most of the people of whatever race or group that has offended or “wronged” them (either historically or present day) and use that offense to counter-attack the offenders with self-righteous diatribes that are devoid of anything scriptural or that contains the “truth” and therefore is backed by and co-signed as a lie that is coming from the enemy.

Unlike the many “Christians” who are full of “pride” (be it black pride, white pride, Hispanic pride, Democrat pride, Republican pride, or “whatever pride”) I will eschew “pride” and only proof what I say by what HIS Word says so please consider the following scriptures (that are only a smidgen of the many scriptures that proves NOT my point…but Christ’s point…which is the ONLY point that a “Christian” SHOULD consider)”

Matthew 5:39: 39 But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Ephesians 4:32 : Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Mark 11:25: And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Matthew 6:15: But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 18:21-22: Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.

Matthew 6:14-15: For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

James 5:16: Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Luke 6:27: “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

Colossians 3:13: Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

Luke 6:37: “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;

There is a song that has the lyrics “Jesus at the center of it all” that I love to hear a friend of mine sing that clearly lets us know that Jesus is and should be in everything that we do but when I see or hear purported “Christians” debating racial issues (or any other issues for that matter) quite often do I rarely even see them mention Jesus or shine the light of His teachings in anything that they say or do.

Only when “Christians” stop allowing themselves to be identified FIRST as a race and but FIRST as a Christian will we see something being done with the evil that racism is.

When the “black Christian” is no longer a “black Christian” and is simply a Christian, when the “white Christian” is no longer a “white Christian” and is simply a Christian, when the whatever “other” Christian is no longer an “other” Christian and is simply a Christian and begins to live a Christ-centered life instead of a skin-color or race-centered life will the “church” and the brothers and sisters within it begin to stop allowing itself to be drawn into these death-filled, man-centered debates and begin to do what is most important and that is preach/teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the “lost” and win souls for the Kingdom of God.

No matter how much we talk we in ourselves will NEVER defeat “evil” and that includes the evil that is racism so let’s, dear brothers and sisters, shun “pride” and choose the only path that will truly make a difference and that is by NOT doing it the world’s way but by doing it God’s way.

So, as a Christian the better way to handle the issue of racism (and all issues) would be to NOT do or say what the “world” is saying or doing BUT to consult the undisputed ruler of all that has ever existed, the Creator of all that has ever been created, the Alpha and Omega, the ruler of and King of all Kings, the Light of this world of darkness, and the only One who can change a person’s heart….JESUS!!
