What Does It Take To Truly Be a “Man” Or “Woman” Of God?

A brother in Christ honestly shared his heart about how he did not handle a situation in a Christ-like fashion on a recent posting on his FB page.

It was refreshing to see a brother openly admit his fault and show others how he walked through it via the correction from the Holy Spirit into confession, repentedness, and asking the Lord for forgiveness.

It was a reminder for all of us that no matter how far we’ve come in our walk that we still have the enemy and our flesh to deal with and sometimes we will fail.

As I read the brother’s account of what happened, how he deal with it in the wrong way, how he came to realize his mistake via the Holy Spirit, how he walked through the steps to “make things right with God on the issue, and why he was sharing the account with the “world” I “commented” on the post with the following which I feel that God impressed upon my heart so I wanted to share it:

(Comment starts)
“I’ve always said that in showing oneself to be a man of God, it’s NOT how much “good works” one does, or how “Godly” a person acts during good times BUT it is how one acts when he or she “gets it wrong” or “misses the mark”.

It’s whether or not the brother or sisters hears, recognizes, and/or reacts in obedience to conviction/correction from the Holy Spirit.

When faced with a situation…what do you do?

Do you make excuses or do you confess your sin, repent of it, and ask God for forgiveness?

THAT, is the TRUE measure of whether or not a man or woman is a man or woman of God AND you my friend are he…Praise God!”
(Comment ends)

I’m so honored to know this brother and unlike the far too many fake, phony, and self-centered “believers” that are only “followers” seeking “crumbs” from the Hand of the Lord

There is nothing wrong with feeding off of the crumbs in the beginning of your walk BUT there comes a time when as believers we MUST grow to the point that we want to seek HIS FACE and have a relationship with Him so that we can become an extension of His Mighty Hand so that we may help Him reach the lost and help Him bring them into His eternal Kingdom…not as peasants seeking a handout but as royal princes/princesses and co-heir to the throne with Jesus.

Thank you brother Ty Jenkins for your faithfulness, your obedience to His Spirit, and for your willingness to be so transparent in your walk so that others may see His light shine out from your heart!

Praise God and bless you my friend!
