“Smoking while pregnant should be a felony crime.” (When You Have An Undefeateable Argument AGAINST Abortion With Purported “Pro-Choicer’s” (LOL!!!)

Had this topic come up from folks who are “pro-choice”: “Smoking while pregnant should be a felony crime.”

My sarcastic response was: Pro-choice, eh? It’s just a “fetus” right? No harm no foul. If smoking should be a crime then abortion should be a crime….I’m just saying!!!

A response from someone on the post: “Different issue lol”

My response to this person: “How? How does anyone know if that lady is going to have an abortion or not? If smoking is dangerous to an unborn baby I’m quite certain that “death” is. So what you’re really saying is that smoking when pregnant is okay if the mother is going to have an abortion, right?”

Response from the person: “Not at all. I’m saying that the lady I saw was at least 7 months preggos. If a woman decides to keep her baby, she should be required to stop smoking and drinking. In Illinois you will get a ticket of you are caught driving and smoking with kids in the car.”

My response: Well then you are taking away her “choice” to do as she sees fit. AND, as we are quite often reminded…fetus’ are not kids. Right?

Response from the person: “That is true”.

My Response: So where am I off-point? The entire premise of this post HAS to be in error if you are for pro-choice because there IS NO kid to be harmed according to the pro-choice persons stance whereas my stance that ALL life is sacred…even the unwanted ones. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of anyone who is pro-choice to even make a statement like this one. And if every person that supports life in the womb tailored their argument this way instead of arguing feeble points their stance would be undefeatable when levied under these circumstances. A pro-choice person shouldn’t even blink when seeing a pregnant woman drinking, smoking, doing drugs, etc. simply because of what they SAY they believe in.

Response from another person (we will call them person #2): I agree. Smoking and drinking are not crimes because neither is an abortion. I personally say jail time to the person who does any of the 3.

My response to person #2: BUT, NONE of them are illegal. So again you would be limiting “choice”. I’m only playing the advocate here (never the devil’s advocate) to point out the error in many who profess belief in “choice” as hypocrisy at some point. One cannot say that they believe in choice yet castigate women who “could” at any moment choose to abort their fetus so why is it a problem for them to smoke or drink?

Response from the person: Prochoice to me means that you have a choice to either abort or have the baby, but once you choose to keep it you must be willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that the baby is born healthy. Knowing the outcome of Tobacco and alcohol use while pregnant and you continue to do it anyway is wrong.

My response: Well then there is no “choice” because you have made up the woman’s mind for her which is what the pro-lifer’s argument is that the child has no choice and IS alive and can be harmed. What if she decides to keep it and then decides to abort it…what then? Can she smoke or drink until she has an abortion? AND, my contention is to harm ANY life is wrong because women who have abortions quite often live to regret harming the child that they at one time didn’t want. Should they be prosecuted for changing their minds AFTER an abortion?

Well, the thread suddenly became silent so I must end it here. Game, match, and set when you can produce an undefeatable argument.
