Why “Settle”?

I often settle for less than Jesus has in store for me.

Here’s the twist though …quite often with all of the distractions in my life I don’t even notice it.

It’s ONLY during my prayer time, Bible study time, my quiet time (with Him), and yes even the not so “holier” times in my life when Jesus walks me back through the past hours, days, weeks, years, and shows me the moments that I have “settled” that I even take note of it.

Know if this is you also this morning please rest assured that God is not making you nor I aware of this to beat us down or discourage us.

In fact this message should encourage us that though we are being made aware of our “settling” that in doing so we are in the least hearing from His Holy Spirit so we have the ability in HIM to change and/or get better.

The message to you and I this morning is simple…Jesus never desires that we ever settle for less.

He wants us to continue to seek more and more after Him for we are by the royal bloodline that we inherit as His children once we have given our lives to Him and we are PRINCES and PRINCESSES so why not seek after all that comes with that inheritance?

It is only when we realize that we have “settled” that we (in Christ) are more willing to do what is necessary to NOT settle for less than what He has promised us.

For example…if you went to a very expensive top of the line restaurant that promises the most “wonderful, unbelievably juicy, mouth watering steak in the world (now I’ve gone and made myself hungry…dang!!!) and paid the corresponding very expensive price for it there is no way that you would dare sit there and remain silent if the server placed a plate with a simple hamburger and soggy fries before you.

You would do everything possible and go to great lengths to ensure that you received the meal that was promised you yet in our walk with Christ we quite often even put up a fight for what is rightfully ours due to the “Blood” that Jesus shed for us that made us co-heirs to the “throne” with Him.

My prayer today is that you and I fall prostrate before Jesus today asking Him to reveal to us times that we have “settled” in the past so that we can know what “settling” looks like.

Also, let’s ask Him to reveal via His Holy Spirit in the future times that we begin to “settle” for less than He has promised us since He paid a horrible, gruesome, yet necessary death by being “hung on a tree” to do it so we should in my humble opinion at least fight to attain said promises.

He love you today!

He woke me up this morning ESPECIALLY FOR YOU (and me) to pen this message so that we may have hope that He sees our “stumbles” in our walk with Him and that He is always there to pick us up when we fall.

He reminded me that all babies fall as they learn to walk and that they must go through that full process before they can run YET babies are not downcast during the process but excited and it is that kind of spirit that we should have while learning THIS walk (with Christ…and if you’re having trouble getting excited…pray for that also…He is faithful and NOT bored with even the simplest requests).

I love you dear brothers and sisters and have a Jesus-filled day!!
