Something that God has placed on my heart the past couple of days that He asked me to pose to those who “follow” Him.
Are you really obedient? Are you really obedient to His word?
My heart breaks when I see people due to political preferences, political party, or simply because they “hate” the president who was elected YET cannot bring themselves to pray for them as God instructs them to BUT can continue to poke fun of them to no end.
And please don’t get “Holier than thou” many who support President Trump (may God richly bless and protect him and his family) failed to do the same under President Obama (may God richly bless him and protect him and his family) and would not pray for him for the same and other reasons.
This does not mean that we have to walk in agreement with their policies, leadership styles, when they lie, when they commit evil (ALL “MEN” DO…yes, even Pres Obama and Pres Trump), or their policies.
But what it DOES mean and if you want to know the truth AS GOD has placed on my heart the past couple of day though I’m only posting this NOW (should’ve been yesterday) due to disobedience that there are many of you who profess Christ as Lord that during the past administrations  (Pres Bush and previous ones) and now during the current administration who claim Christ as Lord YET go past politics with your jokes about the authority that God has either placed or allowed to placed over us (some of you are laughing yet God is NOT amused).

He specifically brought me back to the “racial” and other jokes about President Obama and He has shown me the SAME with the “racial” and other jokes about President Trump that “Christians” have been publicly making then and now and even worse with a NASTY and “stinking in HIS nostrils” pride that has reached His throne that HIS people should grow OR be growing past…but they are not…and this is your warning (now you may understand my disobedience in putting off writing this one for a day or so).
If this is You (as it has been me in the past) GOD (not me) wants you to repent, ask for forgiveness, and begin to act like HIS children who are “called” by HIS Name instead of continuing to behave like the people who are trapped in this world.
Lastly, the scriptures below testify to what God has put in my heart in this writing and He SPECIFICALLY has a word for the one who scoffs at this post with the attitude “who does this n—– think he is?” AND the one who has committed this act against His word yet pridefully ask…”surely not me? Trump is awful, un-Godly, doesn’t support MY values or beliefs so it’s okay to make fun of him” or President Obama was/is is awful, un-Godly, doesn’t support MY values or beliefs so it’s okay to make fun of him”.
Let me assure you that God has told me that this “pride” is the kind that “kills” and it is NOT about accepting your President or not it is about OBEDIENCE IN AND TO HIM and if you CANNOT bring yourself to do as He says the WHO is truly YOUR god?…it surely is not Jesus.
Let that sink in, pray about it, and I bid you peace as NOW I have peace because I myself have done HIS bidding in posting this (I ask forgiveness Lord and will do better with your strength).
Scriptures:

1 Timothy 2:1-3(NKJV):

Pray for All Men

2 “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, andgiving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,”

Proverbs‬ ‭21:1-4‬ (‭NKJV‬‬):
1 “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts.
3 To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
4 A haughty look, a proud heart, And the plowing of the wicked are sin.”

‘Everyone thinks forgiveness is a lovely idea until they have something to forgive.’
C.S. Lewis

God has reminded me for the second time this week of what He put on my heart when He dealt with my “black pride”.

He said “son, you cannot serve me the way that you are supposed to until you stop putting your “black pride” before MY Word and TRUTH. ANYTHING that comes before ME including your “black pride” is an “idol” and you know how I feel about them.”

Most importantly He reminded me that MOST black people who claim Christ as Savior CLAIM that they have forgiven whites for horrible slavery and racism BOTH past and present (AND vice vers sense racism goes both ways and ANYONE is capable of it) but their words and actions prove otherwise.

The Bible is clear “forgive or you won’t be forgiven” God modeled how we are supposed to forgive when He gave us His Son Jesus to die for and as forgiveness of our sins.

He forgives us NO MATTER our sin and He doesn’t throw our sin neither past, present, or future back in our faces everytime that we do something wrong.

Why does God not have me address the former slave-owner or racist?

Don’t know…don’t care…I stay in my lane and do what HE tell me to do and NOT what others including the black community tells me to do.

Mayhaps He chose me because I use to have a “taught” level of hatred of for whites that it took me to the brink of becoming so radical that I almost came to a point of hurting people who had no more connection to slave-owners or racism than I did to inventing the “wheel”.

So when God showed me the truth..I TRULY forgave and became “free” and when I asked Him why others like me don’t do the same He let me know that sadly there are many who know His Word and truth just as I do but they CHOOSE to continue to walk in the sin of unforgiveness and that I did NOT want to be in THAT “number” when the proverbial “saints coming in.”

Don’t “hate” the messenger!!!

Well… even if you do I don’t care anyway so whatever.

(The following is a comment that I made to a dear sister Bridges Hope as she thanked me for the article that God put on my heart as writing it brought me to tears as I recalled that time in my life:

“Thank you my friend! When He first convicted me of this (JUST BEFORE He sent me to “bus ministry” and then youth…I know you remember those days) I was scared to death to say anything to black folk about it. But God was patient with me and at a Verge He finally released me to start writing so I knew it was time YET I still didn’t write about it for about two years. For a black man who is not afraid of much I knew the attacks that were going to come my way were going to be fierce because I used to treat people that way so I knew what was coming but I realized that Christ knew what was “coming” to Him before He went to the Cross to die for me yet He STILL did it anyway (I’m tearing up writing this) so fearful or not I knew it was time so I started writing and saying it and I’ve been free ever since. (I’m going to add this to it by the way)”

If you know me well you know that with my sense of humor one of the things that I find funny is that few people fail to understand why veterans are so vocal when they stand up for their rights.

The reason that it seems that many of us have ice water in our veins when it comes to expressing ourselves is that for however many years we served we were often denied many of the very rights that many “civilians” in their apathy take for granted.

No “free speech”, “pursuit of happiness”…as long as it doesn’t hinder the mission, the right to “redress your government with your grievances”…ONLY if the grievances come about if they violate their oath or the law and then ONLY by taking it up the chain-of-command….etc., and so on…you get the picture and if you don’t you’re exactly who (the apathetic person) that I’m talking about).

So you see…if it seems that a service brother or sister seems to fight you harder than a “normal” person on an issue know that the first thing is that we are already used to fighting ( for your tail to express the very right you wish to deny him/her) and because we once volunteered to give up those rights now that we have them back we take them very seriously because we know how precious they are (one only knows how precious something is when it’s lost and found again).

Lastly, WE WILL ALWAYS BE SEVICE MEN AND WOMEN and we are always just a call away NO MATTER our age and physical limitations to “pick up a weapon” to once again defend this God-blessed nation and it’s ever-increasingly hostile against us peoples (smh…the very ones that we fight FOR) and our way of life.

So sleep well, warm, and cozy without a care in the world under the very “blanket of freedom” that every military man and woman has crafted for you.

A blanket that was sown with the blood, sweat, tears, and yes even deaths of those who run into the face of danger as you run back into your comfortable house peeking out of the curtain terrified because WE dare to face death as we face those who desire to destroy our way of life and take away our freedoms.

I leave you with one of the greatest quotes from one of my favorite movies (A few good men) that will sum up what I’ve said here:

Col. Nathan R. Jessep: “You cant handle the truth! Son we live in a world that has walls, and those have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it you, you lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury, you have the luxury of not knowing what I know, that Santiago’s death while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence while grotesque and incomprehensible, to you, saves lives. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you talk about parties; you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall! We use words like honor, code, loyalty, We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something, you use them as a punch line. I have neither the time,or the inclination, to explain myself to a man, who rises and sleep under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner, in which I provide it. I’d rather you just say ‘thank you’ and go on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn, what you think you are entitled to!”
So I suggest you just say “thank you” and be on your way!

1 Chronicles‬ ‭29: 1-20 MSG:
“Then David the king addressed the congregation: “My son Solomon was singled out and chosen by God to do this. But he’s young and untested and the work is huge—this is not just a place for people to meet each other, but a house for GOD to meet us. I’ve done my best to get everything together for building this house for my God, all the materials necessary: gold, silver, bronze, iron, lumber, precious and varicolored stones, and building stones—vast stockpiles. Furthermore, because my heart is in this, in addition to and beyond what I have gathered, I’m turning over my personal fortune of gold and silver for making this place of worship for my God: 3,000 talents (about 113 tons) of gold—all from Ophir, the best—and 7,000 talents (214 tons) of silver for covering the walls of the buildings, and for the gold and silver work by craftsmen and artisans. “And now, how about you? Who among you is ready and willing to join in the giving?”
Ready and willing, the heads of families, leaders of the tribes of Israel, commanders and captains in the army, stewards of the king’s affairs, stepped forward and gave willingly. They gave 5,000 talents (188 tons) and 10,000 darics (185 pounds) of gold, 10,000 talents of silver (377 tons), 18,000 talents of bronze (679 tons), and 100,000 talents (3,775 tons) of iron. Anyone who had precious jewels put them in the treasury for the building of The Temple of GOD in the custody of Jehiel the Gershonite.
And the people were full of a sense of celebration—all that giving! And all given willingly, freely! King David was exuberant. David blessed GOD in full view of the entire congregation: Blessed are you, GOD of Israel, our father from of old and forever. To you, O GOD, belong the greatness and the might, the glory, the victory, the majesty, the splendor; Yes! Everything in heaven, everything on earth; the kingdom all yours! You’ve raised yourself high over all. Riches and glory come from you, you’re ruler over all; You hold strength and power in the palm of your hand to build up and strengthen all. And here we are, O God, our God, giving thanks to you, praising your splendid Name.
“But me—who am I, and who are these my people, that we should presume to be giving something to you? Everything comes from you; all we’re doing is giving back what we’ve been given from your generous hand. As far as you’re concerned, we’re homeless, shiftless wanderers like our ancestors, our lives mere shadows, hardly anything to us. GOD, our God, all these materials—these piles of stuff for building a house of worship for you, honoring your Holy Name—it all came from you! It was all yours in the first place! I know, dear God, that you care nothing for the surface—you want us, our true selves—and so I have given from the heart, honestly and happily. And now see all these people doing the same, giving freely, willingly—what a joy! O GOD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, keep this generous spirit alive forever in these people always, keep their hearts set firmly in you. And give my son Solomon an uncluttered and focused heart so that he can obey what you command, live by your directions and counsel, and carry through with building The Temple for which I have provided.”
David then addressed the congregation: “Bless GOD, your God!” And they did it, blessed GOD, the God of their ancestors, and worshiped reverently in the presence of GOD and the king.”

‭‭

As I finished up my Bible reading and time with God this morning I read the scriptures above which made me reflect on the huge process that Pastors Rusty Nelson and Leisa Lowery Nelson (and the rest of our church leadership) are leading us into with the purchase and transformation of our new church home in the Butler High school facility.

When David gathered Israel before the crowning of Solomon as his replacement as King and for the commissioning for Solomon to begin the building of the temple he honored thanked God for the opportunity to help prepare for His house to be built by Solomon.

As I read these scriptures I recalled the “vision” walk through that our pastors provided for the servant leaders to not only view the future church home but to also provide the vision that God had given them as he blessed us with the opportunity to reclaim a facility that had long been thought as lost and was mothballed. But God saw something different and had planned for this day fifty years ago when the building was first built to be a house for His people to minister to His people, a home for the “lost”, a refuge for people who find themselves in life’s many “storms”, and a place where the Name of Jesus would be exalted as His message of Salvation is spread throughout the earth.

Just as David did in this passage Pastors Rusty and Leisa have already invested monetarily with money for this “building” (refurbishing and rebuilding in some cases) his church home but they have also tithes and lifted up offerings from their lives to the service of the Lord as an example of how “we” the servants of God can help.

I’m so proud and honored to serve side by side with these two people who live what they preach and I’m further honored to join with them in seeing this “vision” come to fruition as I’m sure that we all do.

I ask you to pray and seeks God for what you can do be it financially, prayerfully, or in service in building this new church home and I pray that we have this same spirit that David and Israel had when faced with the building of the Temple in our service and/or giving for the project.

These are exciting times…I’m so stoked!!!

2 ‬ ‭Thessalonians 3:1-13‬ ‭MSG‬‬:  “One more thing, friends: Pray for us. Pray that the Master’s Word will simply take off and race through the country to a groundswell of response, just as it did among you. And pray that we’ll be rescued from these scoundrels who are trying to do us in. I’m finding that not all “believers” are believers. But the Master never lets us down. He’ll stick by you and protect you from evil.
Because of the Master, we have great confidence in you. We know you’re doing everything we told you and will continue doing it. May the Master take you by the hand and lead you along the path of God’s love and Christ’s endurance.
Our orders—backed up by the Master, Jesus—are to refuse to have anything to do with those among you who are lazy and refuse to work the way we taught you. Don’t permit them to freeload on the rest. We showed you how to pull your weight when we were with you, so get on with it. We didn’t sit around on our hands expecting others to take care of us. In fact, we worked our fingers to the bone, up half the night moonlighting so you wouldn’t be burdened with taking care of us. And it wasn’t because we didn’t have a right to your support; we did. We simply wanted to provide an example of diligence, hoping it would prove contagious.
Don’t you remember the rule we had when we lived with you? “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” And now we’re getting reports that a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings are taking advantage of you. This must not be tolerated. We command them to get to work immediately—no excuses, no arguments—and earn their own keep. Friends, don’t slack off in doing your duty.”

‭‭
I’ve always known that “welfare” the way “man” administers it is a flawed perversion of God’s perfect example of how to deal with the poor.
Welfare in this country started out with good intentions and WAS an extension OF the church’s heart given to its people by God (people forget that the church used to work hand in hand with the government to help people) to help people through even our government that “we the people” elected.
As normal though and as “we the people” moved further and further away from God men/women perverted this “help” from something that was meant to be “good” into a political tool to accrue power for themselves and/or their particular political party’s (BOTH sides are guilty of this by the way).
As I read the scriptures above this morning God brought me to remembrance of how I felt as a child growing up in welfare and how I knew that many of the people administering the program didn’t care about me/us (my family) didn’t truly care about us (there were many workers in the program that did truly care) but that we were simply numbers in a game of political money and no “love” was administered along with the assistance that we were provided.
But as I read those scriptures God showed me what true welfare is and that it comes from a heart that is centered on Jesus and through people that are willing to be used by Jesus to help people and NOT to simply get an EBT card for food stamps or to receive a paycheck but as a vehicle or avenue for them to be exposed to the gospel THROUGH receiving said assistance and thus receive “living food” and “living water” (perfect assistance) that will never run dry no matter their situation.
When welfare was first administered it was a cooperation between church and government as churches often received money to assist the poor but once politicians got into office who hated God and knew that this assistance helped to spread the name and way of Jesus they, over the years reduced the churches influence in government based on the lie of the “separation of church and state” (which is another topic for another day).
AND it was “we the people” who allowed it to happen through our vote just as we allow evil to happen in our government and in our land through our vote today.
Lastly, we should most certainly help the poor as it is most certainly God’s command and our duty as citizens of Heaven.
However, we must also heed the warning from our brother the Apostle Paul on how to deal with the “lazy” (those who won’t “work”) on this issue as noted in these scriptures
I’m not talking about the people who truly need help. I’m talking about the people who sit on their “rump” and do nothing when they are fully capable of working and providing for themselves.
These Scriptures clearly tell us how to handle them and I pray that as you read them that we as a community pray and ask God to embolden us all as brothers and sisters to (in love) help people without leading them to a life of dependency on the federal government who then quite often becomes the false god in their lives that they depend on for sustenance instead of the One and only TRUE God who gives them “meat” and “drink” that would help them live forever.
My name is Big Black and Jesus approves of this message (since He is the One who gave it to me).
Ron (Big Black) Garrett

Let’s take the presidency off of the table. There is NO Trump in the mix either. Hillary is the woman next door…do you trust her now? Do you let her mentor your children? Do you allow her to keep your checkbook and steward everything that you own?
I’m always amazed that people always want to bring up Trump when all I’m trying to do is expose what I know about Hillary. The majority of the time the election is an afterthought for me as I’m blown away by how many people…even within our faith are seemingly okay with the evil that this woman has done and continues to do without repentance and even a hit of seeking forgiveness. Hillary’s evil record stands on its own just as Trump’s disdainful words stand on their own.
It’s seems that so many today are not mature enough to simply call out both of them individually and side with their candidate and ignore their wrongs and it matters not if you vote one way or the other.
If you give Trump a pass for his misgivings you are wrong and walking in agreement with those misgivings and therefore in disagreement with Gods truths…call them out and if you give Hillary a pass for her misgivings you are similarly wrong and are therefore in disagreement with God also.
This is far past an election for me. My soul hurts when I see people…especially in the church be so hypocritical in pointing out the flaws of one candidate yet give a pass and even defend their preferred candidate simply because they either hate the opposition or because their candidate has a D or a R by their candidates name…that’s NOT kingdom thinking and the Bible that so many say they believe proves me on that point.
Lastly, I want to give a passage of scripture to those who are being derided, accused of going “out of your race, being accused of being racist for telling the truth about EITHER candidate, and even been made fun of and castigated by family and close friends simply because you call out evil no matter if a D is beside it or an R is beside it.
I know that it will encourage you because we have the same DNA and will not stand by when people…even within the church who are supposed to be brothers and sisters who should at least listen to your reasoning for feeling the way you do and ESPECIALLY if you proof your stance in God’s Word while they only argue from a worldly position that does not line up with God’s truth.
This post was predicated by a post that a person who knows me all of my life actually made fun of me because I came from a point of view on a topic that he didn’t like but instead of going to the Bible to see if my line of thinking was in line with God’s word He actually not only made fun of me in a callous way but he also made fun of a person in Christ who agreed with me for no reason and it hurt my heart because of our lifelong friendship as he should know that I don’t say things flippantly.
So as I lay awake I got up as I usually do to find solace in the Lord via His word and the following was presented to me and I know that many of you who face similar challenges really need this so I want to share it with you and wish you a Jesus-filled day!
I will take NO political comments from either side because this is NOT politics since it is for ALL people:
Matthew‬ ‭10:17-37‬ ‭MSG‬‬
“Don’t be naive. Some people will impugn your motives, others will smear your reputation—just because you believe in me. Don’t be upset when they haul you before the civil authorities. Without knowing it, they’ve done you—and me—a favor, given you a platform for preaching the kingdom news! And don’t worry about what you’ll say or how you’ll say it. The right words will be there; the Spirit of your Father will supply the words.
“When people realize it is the living God you are presenting and not some idol that makes them feel good, they are going to turn on you, even people in your own family. There is a great irony here: proclaiming so much love, experiencing so much hate! But don’t quit. Don’t cave in. It is all well worth it in the end. It is not success you are after in such times but survival. Be survivors! Before you’ve run out of options, the Son of Man will have arrived.
“A student doesn’t get a better desk than her teacher. A laborer doesn’t make more money than his boss. Be content—pleased, even—when you, my students, my harvest hands, get the same treatment I get. If they call me, the Master, ‘Dungface,’ what can the workers expect?
“Don’t be intimidated. Eventually everything is going to be out in the open, and everyone will know how things really are. So don’t hesitate to go public now.
“Don’t be bluffed into silence by the threats of bullies. There’s nothing they can do to your soul, your core being. Save your fear for God, who holds your entire life—body and soul—in his hands. “What’s the price of a pet canary? Some loose change, right? And God cares what happens to it even more than you do. He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head! So don’t be intimidated by all this bully talk. You’re worth more than a million canaries.
“Stand up for me against world opinion and I’ll stand up for you before my Father in heaven. If you turn tail and run, do you think I’ll cover for you?
“Don’t think I’ve come to make life cozy. I’ve come to cut—make a sharp knife-cut between son and father, daughter and mother, bride and mother-in-law—cut through these cozy domestic arrangements and free you for God. Well-meaning family members can be your worst enemies. If you prefer father or mother over me, you don’t deserve me. If you prefer son or daughter over me, you don’t deserve me.”

Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭(MSG‬‬):
“In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. “You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others.” If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.”
Galatians‬ ‭3:28-29‬ ‭MSG‬‬

“In Christ’s family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, since you are Christ’s family, then you are Abraham’s famous “descendant,” heirs according to the covenant promises.”

God woke me up this morning with a message from this passage of scripture (Matthew 6: 14-15).
He then proceeded to take me back to the same day that He cured me of my “black pride” when He instructed me that having it was akin to an idol because it had became the “center of my thought patterns” and that I viewed EVERYTHING that came before me through those lenses instead of the new lenses that He gave me when I surrendered my life to His Son Jesus Christ.
One set of lenses opened my eyes up to see the world as I was intended to see it and the other (as God spoke into my heart that day) causes spiritual blindness and hinders God’s ability to fully use me in HIS work because as I peered at the world through my “pride” lenses i quite often would do the very same thing that I would accuse others of doing…prejudge  or be prejudiced towards them which caused me to miss out on an opportunity to change that persons heart toward Christ…yes, EVEN the racist.
Please note that this does NOT mean that I have to give up my admiration for the culture that I grew up with, or the connection that I have with those I grew up with.

What it DOES mean is that when it comes down to those things or the truth (Jesus) or even further anything in my “blackness” that comes against God’s Word…I MUST ALWAYS CHOOSE GOD!

One way has “pride” that can and has been twisted into our hearts by inference via our enemy the devil and/our flesh that wants payback for the evil wrongs perpetrated against us through slavery and racism which has caused us in the black (and the same in the white, Hispanic, Asian, etc when wronged or due to their “pride) community to remain set in a perpetual state of unforgiveness.
While the other way (God’s way) is full of grace, mercy, and provides everlasting life.
However, FORGIVENESS DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL BE RECIPROCATED BY THE ONE WHO YOU ARE FORGIVING!!!
We are to forgive and let God worry about the one our forgiveness is directed towards…”You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others.”
Prayer,
Jesus, I pray today that I live as Your Word teaches us to. Remove pride out of my heart be it black, white, Hispanic, Asian, or “other” so that You can fully use me in Your Kingdom work that I was designed to do.

Help me to be bold enough to go against the community that I was raised in when their words, actions, or deeds go against what Your Word says.

For the person that is reading this and is thinking those thoughts of disdain towards the writer that you chose to speak this message today I pray that You wreck their lives in such a way that they are forced to remove their race-based “pride” lenses that is hindering their spiritual eyes where they cannot see so that the may see the world as You intended them to see it so that they can work with ALL that you place in front of them.
Lastly, I pray that You so infect Your people with the contents of these passages of scripture that we start being the church that You made us to be and treat/love each other as You have loved and treated us.
You loved us though we were evil and you looked past that evil with love that we didn’t deserve and You expect us to do the same with those (yes, even the racist) that we encounter so that we may become a beacon of prayer point for their lives thus showing the world that the ONLY one that can truly deal with racism properly is beautiful You.
We thank You Lord Jesus and we love you!

In Your Holy Name we pray.

Amen
