Our nation WAS intended to be “one nation under God” though many today foolishly try to imply otherwise due to their lack of knowledge of our history.

Did the founding people always follow God as they should in every aspect? Well that answer would be a big, fat, NO…but that does not diminish the fact that the intent was for our nation to be under the guidance of the Judeo-Christian God and even the simple “deitists” among the Founders postulated to that with the caveat that the government not be able to force anyone to serve or not serve said God.

THAT was the “original intent” and NOT the falsehood that is bandied about today that “separation of church and state” means that God had to be left at our front doors and had no place in our government or that people that believed could not invoke His Holy Name if they were government servants or when introducing policies or legislation or as the basis of how they would govern (as long as they did not force the people to serve their God) and history proofs my position on this.

Having said that and/or whether or not one is in agreeable with those truths or not is NOT my point today ((so I’m not debating it since it stands on proven, historical merit) but the point is that the scripture below teaches us that if “we the people” of this country want to prosper, be protected, etc., that God BETTER be the God of our nation.

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭33:10-22‬ ‭(MSG)‬: “GOD takes the wind out of Babel pretense, he shoots down the world’s power-schemes. GOD ’s plan for the world stands up, all his designs are made to last. Blessed is the country with GOD for God; blessed are the people he’s put in his will.

From high in the skies GOD looks around, he sees all Adam’s brood. From where he sits he overlooks all us earth-dwellers. He has shaped each person in turn; now he watches everything we do.

No king succeeds with a big army alone, no warrior wins by brute strength. Horsepower is not the answer; no one gets by on muscle alone.

Watch this: God’s eye is on those who respect him, the ones who are looking for his love. He’s ready to come to their rescue in bad times; in lean times he keeps body and soul together.

We’re depending on GOD; he’s everything we need. What’s more, our hearts brim with joy since we’ve taken for our own his holy name. Love us, GOD, with all you’ve got— that’s what we’re depending on.”

As I viewed the video in the link it took me back to traumatic incidents of racism NOT directed towards me by white folk but by many black people in my life who hypocritically cry racism everytime something happens yet fail to see the “log in” their “own eye” as Jesus teaches us in Matthew 7:3:  “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?”

During a “Save our sons” events sponsored by some great friends and brothers and sisters in Christ (the beautiful Melvin and Toya Poplar) which was designed to get people differing faiths, races, police, the media, and anyone else who cared to discuss how to stop the unnecessary deaths within our community via dialogue with the police but during the event we also discussed racism.

There was much helpful dialogue to be discussed at the event and it was very helpful to our local community as we discussed topics that people are afraid to discuss due to political correctness or due to fear of being “shamed” by their respective communities in trying to understand our differences and discuss the long held and often unspoken grievances that we often have against each other so that we all as creations of the same God can make progress towards solutions to race issues instead of bloviating nonsensically with no “fruit” to be shown for the seeds being planted.

One of the points that I made (that I later was informed by the participants in the meeting) that made most everyone of the group think about was that my VERY first experience with racism DID NOT come from “white people” BUT FROM within my own black community when people within my family would deride me as being “too black”, or that my hair was too “nappy”, or that i was “just another dumb, black nigger that wasn’t going to amount to nothing”, or that that they would “disown” me if I married a “white girl” and many other hateful things.
Now I would be remiss if I didn’t also note that MOST  of these same people went to church every Sunday and also  MADE me go to church and learn that God says we should “love” all people like Jesus does and “forgive” others when wronged but would get mad it me and even kick my tail for trying to live it.

These “Christians” never lived that life that I even as a “dumb bigger who wasn’t going to ever amount to nothing” could read the Bible and  understand how to live because when it came to forgiving white people for the past wrongs that some of their race did to our people they WOULD’NT forgive them and talked about ALL white people (and you Mexicans ain’t off the hook…they did and STILL talk about y’all horribly also) like a proverbial “dog” (and I apologize to dogs everywhere for bringing them in this) and even to this day many of these “church attendees” (who are bereft of the Spirit of God that I am in relationship with) have not changed and are still ruining the spirit of black folk with their “dumb nigger” and “yo hair is just nappy and no good” comments.

It was this hypocrisy among other things that let me know that i didn’t need to go to church because as far as I was concerned “Christians” were hypocrites so I quit going to church and didn’t trust Christians for years until i gave my life to Jesus INSTEAD of people and HE taught me how wrong these people who knew Him by Name only were.
I digress…The real problem here as it relates to what I and this beautiful young lady is saying here is one of the things that I have said for years and that is that the black community is ALSO responsible for my, her, and so many others feeling like this because of how we are told NOT by racists how “ugly” black is but even worse by the community that claims to love us.

We “yap” on and on about “racism” from other groups towards black people but hide the fact that in the black community we are made fun of if our hair is “too natural” (or “nappy” to keep it 💯), or if you are light-skinned you were called “high-yella” and depending on your location being “high-yella” could be helpful or a detriment in the black community.

AND…don’t you dare be very dark as this beautiful young lady is because they (we..I am Big Black ya know) endure some of the most horrific comments that goes past simple humor (which I have no problem with by the way).

Think I’m joking…i challenge all black women to get them chemicals out of your hair today and go “natural” and see what happens!

To this day I marvel at how beautiful the natural hair of a black person is in its varying thickness and textures (I also marvel at He beauty of He hair of ALL of f God’s children so don’t “trip” with me here, LOL).

YET most of what I hear from my community is people (mostly women) who as they try to “get back to their roots (pun intended) are harassed mercilessly by the very community that claims to be on their side in everything “black”.

I noticed this hypocrisy as a child and continue to witness it now as an almost half a century old black man and I smh (shake my head) that this nonsense is still going on.

If someone wants to perm or straighten their hair…fine…they should get no “guff” over it and if someone wants to go natural there should similarly be nothing said either.

Something that God has placed on my heart the past couple of days that He asked me to pose to those who “follow” Him.
Are you really obedient? Are you really obedient to His word?
My heart breaks when I see people due to political preferences, political party, or simply because they “hate” the president who was elected YET cannot bring themselves to pray for them as God instructs them to BUT can continue to poke fun of them to no end.
And please don’t get “Holier than thou” many who support President Trump (may God richly bless and protect him and his family) failed to do the same under President Obama (may God richly bless him and protect him and his family) and would not pray for him for the same and other reasons.
This does not mean that we have to walk in agreement with their policies, leadership styles, when they lie, when they commit evil (ALL “MEN” DO…yes, even Pres Obama and Pres Trump), or their policies.
But what it DOES mean and if you want to know the truth AS GOD has placed on my heart the past couple of day though I’m only posting this NOW (should’ve been yesterday) due to disobedience that there are many of you who profess Christ as Lord that during the past administrations  (Pres Bush and previous ones) and now during the current administration who claim Christ as Lord YET go past politics with your jokes about the authority that God has either placed or allowed to placed over us (some of you are laughing yet God is NOT amused).

He specifically brought me back to the “racial” and other jokes about President Obama and He has shown me the SAME with the “racial” and other jokes about President Trump that “Christians” have been publicly making then and now and even worse with a NASTY and “stinking in HIS nostrils” pride that has reached His throne that HIS people should grow OR be growing past…but they are not…and this is your warning (now you may understand my disobedience in putting off writing this one for a day or so).
If this is You (as it has been me in the past) GOD (not me) wants you to repent, ask for forgiveness, and begin to act like HIS children who are “called” by HIS Name instead of continuing to behave like the people who are trapped in this world.
Lastly, the scriptures below testify to what God has put in my heart in this writing and He SPECIFICALLY has a word for the one who scoffs at this post with the attitude “who does this n—– think he is?” AND the one who has committed this act against His word yet pridefully ask…”surely not me? Trump is awful, un-Godly, doesn’t support MY values or beliefs so it’s okay to make fun of him” or President Obama was/is is awful, un-Godly, doesn’t support MY values or beliefs so it’s okay to make fun of him”.
Let me assure you that God has told me that this “pride” is the kind that “kills” and it is NOT about accepting your President or not it is about OBEDIENCE IN AND TO HIM and if you CANNOT bring yourself to do as He says the WHO is truly YOUR god?…it surely is not Jesus.
Let that sink in, pray about it, and I bid you peace as NOW I have peace because I myself have done HIS bidding in posting this (I ask forgiveness Lord and will do better with your strength).
Scriptures:

1 Timothy 2:1-3(NKJV):

Pray for All Men

2 “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, andgiving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,”

Proverbs‬ ‭21:1-4‬ (‭NKJV‬‬):
1 “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts.
3 To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
4 A haughty look, a proud heart, And the plowing of the wicked are sin.”

I posted the following to a post that a dear brother in Christ shared on his Facebook page (link below) of words that Frederick Douglas penned about the church and since you all know me I had to add my thoughts and they are below but please first read he contents of the following link for context:

https://blogs.thegospelcoalition.org/evangelical-history/2017/02/02/one-of-the-most-haunting-paragraphs-i-have-read/
The irony in this piece here is that today’s church often still mirrors this as the church is more and more walking hand in hand with the slave-owners of today (ANY part of our society that is not submitted to Christ enslaves the people).

The leaders on the church quite often collude and sell their souls and (as they lead them) the souls of their congregants to the highest bidder under the guise of serving Jesus for the “few pieces of silver” that corrupts their souls and leads “men” astray.

As a young man I witnessed this and it was this that kept me from aligning myself with the church because I figured that I could do “bad” or what they were doing on my own.

Some of the best “hustlers” that I’ve ever seen were church leaders as they hustled the spirit straight out of people with their anti-Christ behavior and false doctrines.

Some of the most powerful pimps resided in the church as they pimped out men and women for their purposes instead of teaching them their worth as God intended them to do with the position that He put them in and some of the most sluttish prostitutes spew hate from their pulpits as they choose to genuflect in their “Jezebelish” ways before their true god satan INSTEAD of the One True God whose Holy Throne resides in Heaven.

Characters like these made me (and many others like me) run in a full sprint from anything “God”…..BUT GOD! My whole life I stayed away from the church BUT THEN I ran into “The Rock” (my home church The Rock Family Worship Center) as Pastor Rusty Nelson and people like you (Patrick Aube) my friend who simply serve as they are told to, who love people where they are like Jesus does, who never water down the gospel, who are not afraid to expose their imperfections and weaknesses to teach others how God makes them stronger through them, and how to lead others who have been hurt by the church back into the fold and then allowing Jesus to use that pain for His glory!

How awesome is that?

If you know me well you know that with my sense of humor one of the things that I find funny is that few people fail to understand why veterans are so vocal when they stand up for their rights.

The reason that it seems that many of us have ice water in our veins when it comes to expressing ourselves is that for however many years we served we were often denied many of the very rights that many “civilians” in their apathy take for granted.

No “free speech”, “pursuit of happiness”…as long as it doesn’t hinder the mission, the right to “redress your government with your grievances”…ONLY if the grievances come about if they violate their oath or the law and then ONLY by taking it up the chain-of-command….etc., and so on…you get the picture and if you don’t you’re exactly who (the apathetic person) that I’m talking about).

So you see…if it seems that a service brother or sister seems to fight you harder than a “normal” person on an issue know that the first thing is that we are already used to fighting ( for your tail to express the very right you wish to deny him/her) and because we once volunteered to give up those rights now that we have them back we take them very seriously because we know how precious they are (one only knows how precious something is when it’s lost and found again).

Lastly, WE WILL ALWAYS BE SEVICE MEN AND WOMEN and we are always just a call away NO MATTER our age and physical limitations to “pick up a weapon” to once again defend this God-blessed nation and it’s ever-increasingly hostile against us peoples (smh…the very ones that we fight FOR) and our way of life.

So sleep well, warm, and cozy without a care in the world under the very “blanket of freedom” that every military man and woman has crafted for you.

A blanket that was sown with the blood, sweat, tears, and yes even deaths of those who run into the face of danger as you run back into your comfortable house peeking out of the curtain terrified because WE dare to face death as we face those who desire to destroy our way of life and take away our freedoms.

I leave you with one of the greatest quotes from one of my favorite movies (A few good men) that will sum up what I’ve said here:

Col. Nathan R. Jessep: “You cant handle the truth! Son we live in a world that has walls, and those have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it you, you lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury, you have the luxury of not knowing what I know, that Santiago’s death while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence while grotesque and incomprehensible, to you, saves lives. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you talk about parties; you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall! We use words like honor, code, loyalty, We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something, you use them as a punch line. I have neither the time,or the inclination, to explain myself to a man, who rises and sleep under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner, in which I provide it. I’d rather you just say ‘thank you’ and go on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn, what you think you are entitled to!”
So I suggest you just say “thank you” and be on your way!

Wow!!! I love it when these “know it all’s” aka “intellectuals” who are trained by and are training our children in our “higher education” systems that there is no God or Heaven are radically changed when something like this happens to them.

This man in the story linked above has the same look that I have in my eyes when people try to proof me that Jesus isn’t real and I’m believing in a fantasy. His look tells it all…no matter what you say you’re NOT going to convince him that Jesus is not real…….hallelujah!!!
 Bless you my brother!!

(I posted this video and comment earlier to a friend on Facebook and I felt in my heart that it was important enough to repost on the blog):

Brother Bill Hansen. This goes right along with some of what we’ve talked about. When people attempt to silence me, when they try to make fun of my faith, when they try to tell me that what I believe is foolishness or nonsense, when they say that I’m weak for needing a “higher power” to believe in, when they say that “self-help” (no help at all) is the way to be better…when all of these questions and more are asked of me I speak to them much like this young man is doing here.

You see my friend…I’m passionate because when I finally and truly put my life into His beautiful hands I was in such a deep, dark place that when He lifted me out of it I was radically changed because I KNEW what HE had just saved me from.
ME!!!! A man who had rejected Him so fiercely that i routinely voiced my “hate” of Him YET in His love for Him He ignored my childish foolishness and loved me anyway.

He has never rejected me like I rejected Him and He since He loves me so radically and eternally i do my best to love Him with the highest level of radicalness that I am capable of.
Be blessed my friend!”
