Our nation WAS intended to be “one nation under God” though many today foolishly try to imply otherwise due to their lack of knowledge of our history.

Did the founding people always follow God as they should in every aspect? Well that answer would be a big, fat, NO…but that does not diminish the fact that the intent was for our nation to be under the guidance of the Judeo-Christian God and even the simple “deitists” among the Founders postulated to that with the caveat that the government not be able to force anyone to serve or not serve said God.

THAT was the “original intent” and NOT the falsehood that is bandied about today that “separation of church and state” means that God had to be left at our front doors and had no place in our government or that people that believed could not invoke His Holy Name if they were government servants or when introducing policies or legislation or as the basis of how they would govern (as long as they did not force the people to serve their God) and history proofs my position on this.

Having said that and/or whether or not one is in agreeable with those truths or not is NOT my point today ((so I’m not debating it since it stands on proven, historical merit) but the point is that the scripture below teaches us that if “we the people” of this country want to prosper, be protected, etc., that God BETTER be the God of our nation.

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭33:10-22‬ ‭(MSG)‬: “GOD takes the wind out of Babel pretense, he shoots down the world’s power-schemes. GOD ’s plan for the world stands up, all his designs are made to last. Blessed is the country with GOD for God; blessed are the people he’s put in his will.

From high in the skies GOD looks around, he sees all Adam’s brood. From where he sits he overlooks all us earth-dwellers. He has shaped each person in turn; now he watches everything we do.

No king succeeds with a big army alone, no warrior wins by brute strength. Horsepower is not the answer; no one gets by on muscle alone.

Watch this: God’s eye is on those who respect him, the ones who are looking for his love. He’s ready to come to their rescue in bad times; in lean times he keeps body and soul together.

We’re depending on GOD; he’s everything we need. What’s more, our hearts brim with joy since we’ve taken for our own his holy name. Love us, GOD, with all you’ve got— that’s what we’re depending on.”

Matthew 6:15:  But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

People often ask me how I am able to “forgive” when I don’t feel like it.

Below is a prayer that I sent to a young person that has been through some hurtful situations lately.

God put this person on my heart so I reached out with the following as directed by Him and I hope that it helps someone. I started out saying this prayer and now I’m able to simply tell people that offend me that I forgive them to their face as I’ve grown if the situation warrants it or if God tells me to but know that the most important thing is to seek God and forgive the person to HIM in the very least as it may not always be a goodIdea to reapproach a person who is “hell” bent (literally…that is what it is) on hurting you. Again, I pray that this helps:

“(Content withheld) God put you on my heart with the forgiveness post that I put up specifically. You have to forgive those that have hurt you recently. This doesn’t mean that you forget what they did and continue to allow them to hurt you but you have got to forgive them. I always try to pray similar to this when doing what I’m speaking of here;

Lord Jesus, You know that this person (name) or group (could be your work, a church or whatever entity) has hurt me and You know that I’m still hurting about what they did to me. I forgive them NOT because I feel like it but because of obedience to You and Your word. I pray for them right now through my hurt and ask You to bless them though I want to do nothing but curse them right now. Lord forgive me of wanting to not forgive them also as I want to be forgiven on the day of Your return. I lay this hurt (name it…what they did or that you perceive that they did to you) at Your feel Jesus for You to deal with on my behalf and I trust You to do it and when I don’t trust You in my heart for it please help me in my untrust. I thank You for the victory over this hurt and I love You Jesus and it’s in Your Holy Name I pray sweet Jesus. Amen!”

I urge anyone in a situation concerning unforgiveness to practice this since if we don’t forgive we won’t be forgiven by God. I have numerous people in my life (family members included) that I no longer communicate with due to the toxicity that they bring into my life but I have forgiven them and I can now through healing from Jesus over the years be cordial to YET ONLY interact with them due to their toxicity when God directs me to.

As I went through my Bible reading (devotional to be posted later) and quiet time with the Lord just now God really put heavy on my mind the word “forgiveness” and how many of His people who claim His Name and Him as Lord refuse to forgive for past racism and enslavement of black people (this message though specifically for the Christian black community is also the same for Christian whites and others as God wants us to get past the color labels and be “Christian” first, foremost, and always which would solve most racial problems within the “church” and then we could model that behavior for the world…wouldn’t that be something?)

Further, the same people even go as far as to hold white people of today who have done them no wrong to account for the past being so blinded by this that they fail to see that they are being anti-Christ and unbiblical in their behavior and God reminded me today an now them through me that they must heed His warnings found in His Word that if the fail to forgive that THEY THEMSELVES will not be forgiven.

Please note hat EVEN IF ANY WHITE OR PERSON OF ANOTHER RACE is racist towards a black person and if a black is racist towards a white OR WHATEVER “race” is racist towards another race that in the body of Christ STILL YOU MUST FORGIVE AS CHRIST FORGAVE YOU (with no caveats) or you WILL NOT be forgiven…His words NOT mine!

Lastly, know that it’s my “cheat day” and all that I wanted to do is be in a “fun zone” today eating delicious food that I can only have one day a week so I had nary the intention to post something so heavy today but God had other plans.

So take it as it is or not and/or be obedient to HIS WORD or not…not my problem as I have done my job in obedience…so “hi hay”…”hi ho”…in search of donuts and fried chicken I go!!!

As I viewed the video in the link it took me back to traumatic incidents of racism NOT directed towards me by white folk but by many black people in my life who hypocritically cry racism everytime something happens yet fail to see the “log in” their “own eye” as Jesus teaches us in Matthew 7:3:  “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?”

During a “Save our sons” events sponsored by some great friends and brothers and sisters in Christ (the beautiful Melvin and Toya Poplar) which was designed to get people differing faiths, races, police, the media, and anyone else who cared to discuss how to stop the unnecessary deaths within our community via dialogue with the police but during the event we also discussed racism.

There was much helpful dialogue to be discussed at the event and it was very helpful to our local community as we discussed topics that people are afraid to discuss due to political correctness or due to fear of being “shamed” by their respective communities in trying to understand our differences and discuss the long held and often unspoken grievances that we often have against each other so that we all as creations of the same God can make progress towards solutions to race issues instead of bloviating nonsensically with no “fruit” to be shown for the seeds being planted.

One of the points that I made (that I later was informed by the participants in the meeting) that made most everyone of the group think about was that my VERY first experience with racism DID NOT come from “white people” BUT FROM within my own black community when people within my family would deride me as being “too black”, or that my hair was too “nappy”, or that i was “just another dumb, black nigger that wasn’t going to amount to nothing”, or that that they would “disown” me if I married a “white girl” and many other hateful things.
Now I would be remiss if I didn’t also note that MOST  of these same people went to church every Sunday and also  MADE me go to church and learn that God says we should “love” all people like Jesus does and “forgive” others when wronged but would get mad it me and even kick my tail for trying to live it.

These “Christians” never lived that life that I even as a “dumb bigger who wasn’t going to ever amount to nothing” could read the Bible and  understand how to live because when it came to forgiving white people for the past wrongs that some of their race did to our people they WOULD’NT forgive them and talked about ALL white people (and you Mexicans ain’t off the hook…they did and STILL talk about y’all horribly also) like a proverbial “dog” (and I apologize to dogs everywhere for bringing them in this) and even to this day many of these “church attendees” (who are bereft of the Spirit of God that I am in relationship with) have not changed and are still ruining the spirit of black folk with their “dumb nigger” and “yo hair is just nappy and no good” comments.

It was this hypocrisy among other things that let me know that i didn’t need to go to church because as far as I was concerned “Christians” were hypocrites so I quit going to church and didn’t trust Christians for years until i gave my life to Jesus INSTEAD of people and HE taught me how wrong these people who knew Him by Name only were.
I digress…The real problem here as it relates to what I and this beautiful young lady is saying here is one of the things that I have said for years and that is that the black community is ALSO responsible for my, her, and so many others feeling like this because of how we are told NOT by racists how “ugly” black is but even worse by the community that claims to love us.

We “yap” on and on about “racism” from other groups towards black people but hide the fact that in the black community we are made fun of if our hair is “too natural” (or “nappy” to keep it 💯), or if you are light-skinned you were called “high-yella” and depending on your location being “high-yella” could be helpful or a detriment in the black community.

AND…don’t you dare be very dark as this beautiful young lady is because they (we..I am Big Black ya know) endure some of the most horrific comments that goes past simple humor (which I have no problem with by the way).

Think I’m joking…i challenge all black women to get them chemicals out of your hair today and go “natural” and see what happens!

To this day I marvel at how beautiful the natural hair of a black person is in its varying thickness and textures (I also marvel at He beauty of He hair of ALL of f God’s children so don’t “trip” with me here, LOL).

YET most of what I hear from my community is people (mostly women) who as they try to “get back to their roots (pun intended) are harassed mercilessly by the very community that claims to be on their side in everything “black”.

I noticed this hypocrisy as a child and continue to witness it now as an almost half a century old black man and I smh (shake my head) that this nonsense is still going on.

If someone wants to perm or straighten their hair…fine…they should get no “guff” over it and if someone wants to go natural there should similarly be nothing said either.

“I want to disabuse the Jews today of the false claim that you are the chosen of God – that Israel or Palestine belongs to you. I want to disabuse you of that. I’m going to tell you about your future. You that think you have power to frighten and dominate the peoples of the world. I’m here to announce the end of your time!”

“But I am here to announce today the end of his world and the beginning of a brand new reality that all human beings will enjoy peace, freedom justice and equality under the rule of Allah,” Louis Farrakhan

Now I want you to go and read your Bible about what GOD says about HIS “chosen” people and then ask yourself WHY ANY Christian churches would entertain his presence in their pulpits.

Exodus 19:5: ‘Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine;

Deuteronomy 7:6-8: “For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. “The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but because the LORD loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the LORD brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharoh king of Egypt.” (Verses end)

He despises the very tenants of our faith yet black folk and the Democrats who profess and allegiance to Christ as well as Republicans who want to be “in” with blacks gloss over his anti-Semitic rhetoric and vile words towards US (Christians) while speaking before HIS people (Muslims) only to wax and smile eloquently with charm and kind words to our faces.

Now before any of you fake, phony, part-time Christians dare disparage what I’m saying here due to your admiration of this man…I ask you to remember that I ALMOST became a Muslim and it amazes me that so many in the black community don’t truly understand Islam the way that I do since I have been to Mosques for “sacred meals” and was in study of the faith that try to act as if they who only know what Islam IS instead of listening to someone who have lived and almost became IT has to say.

Why did I NOT become a Muslim?

It was a God thing YET He allowed me to go through that experience so that WHEN I experienced the sincere Truth of Jesus that I would recognize it and KNOW whenever ANYONE tried to deceive me…which is why I humbly praise God for that knowledge…AND now I can share this truth WITH FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE instead of regurgitating what someone else…ESPECIALLY the black community…even worse the “church” in it and being deceived by these false prophets.

That’ll preach…you might not want to hear it…but that’ll preach! (I am referring to the contents of the following link by Brother Clayton Jennings on him refusing to preach at a church that banned gay people):

Link:

God told me long ago that just as His Word says “ALL have sinned and fallen short of” His glory so I’ve learned to call out sin in love YET I’m more focused on myself growing more into the likeness of Christ.

I’ve seen the adulterer, fornicator, the drunk, the liar, the hypocrite be welcome in church with nary a word said about their behavior because they “tithe” and “serve” and then see the young pregnant girl, the homeless person with tattered clothes, or the gay person shunned or treated badly so for years I didn’t go to church…and it still goes on.

This doesn’t mean that we don’t call sin what it is…sin…for we have a responsibility to do so but what Clayton Jennings is saying here is that we should be focused on showing the love of Christ which will when applied correctly will do more to solve issues than our bashing ever will.

HOW we live our lives is the ONLY Bible that most people will ever see and take it from a man that didn’t give his life to Jesus until he was 38 years old…some of your Bibles are very dirty, rife with hypocrisy, stinking with religion, and unappealing to the unsaved person (been guilty of this myself but trying to grow from it daily) and it is keeping many from seeking Christ.

I love Jesus and when I look back at my interactions with Christians the ones that truly impacted me were NOT the ones who could quote scripture to me but the ones who LIVED it.

They sometimes never even brought up the Bible but you could see Jesus (now that I am able to look back on it through the prism of time) working through them to reach me, teach me, and show me His love.

THIS is what changed me and is why I speak so often on hypocrisy.

One…because I know and recognize it so well because I have IMHO been a huge hypocrite for most of my life so “game recognize game” and two because as I read the Holy Bible hypocrisy was something that Jesus clearly disdained.

My prayer is that we treat ALL of his children with love and that though we never water down His Word that we also don’t destroy its ability to work through us due to hypocrisy.

Be blessed and thank you Brother Clayton for this awesome reminder.

(The following clip shows what true forgiveness looks like so i again remind below in a comment that i posted on social media what God spoke into my heart about forgiveness:

Clip:  https://www.facebook.com/christianstrongbrand/videos/1844059032538124/

I posted some time ago what God spoke into my heart upon my salvation about what to say to the black community about forgiveness.

I said that the black community often says with their lips that we have “forgiven” YET our actions/words/deeds prove otherwise.

YES have been and are STILL being done wrong on many fronts BUT IF you are one with Christ YOU MUST TRULY forgive just as this brother did here EVEN if the other person doesn’t deserve it because you certainly didn’t deserve Christ’s forgiveness nor His Holy blood that was poured out for you as He died a horrible, gruesome death on the Cross for YOU AND THE PERSON OR PERSONS WHO “DID” YOU WRONG.

I can hear some black folk who claim to be Christian now as they watch this…”man he’s crazy, I wouldn’t have forgiven him after I went through all of that!” OR “I know what the Bible says but I couldn’t forgive that!” OR “this is what white people do so I can’t forgive nothing that they have done to me or my people!”

Well I used to have that same attitude UNTIL that day that God dealt with me about forgiveness and racism. He was curt with me that IF I could not find it in my heart to TRULY forgive that I WOULD NOT BE FORGIVEN NOR COULD I ENTRR HIS KINGDOM!”

Let that sink in Christians who are black…let that sink in.

You claim Christ but at every turn you show zero forgiveness towards the “white race” many whose ancestors did your people wrong and some who have done you wrong but also some who have never done you wrong and you expect that God is not going to be true to His Word when history proves otherwise that you will be Not forgiven if you don’t forgive?

I am baffled at the excuses, the lack of Godly wisdom that is overrided by “black pride”, and historical hurt that people who claim Christ can allow themselves to be so tricked by satan that they live lives with the same hate that they claim they hate and return “hate for hate” when the Lord that they claim as Lord tells them not to YET they behave as if it were a suggestion and not a command.

Not only did God instruct me to get rid of my black pride (“you cannot serve me as I intend you to with it”…his words) BUT I also had to repent of my prior unforgiving heart, attitudes, and actions (yes I would’ve been one of the current day race baiting rioters) toward people that i considered my enemy.

Once I did that in obedience JESUS opened my eyes to who the real enemy was and if ANYONE reading this has that same attitude that I spoke of a paragraph or two ago YOU ARE STILL BLIND and need to repent and ask forgiveness so that the proverbial scales can fall from your eyes so that you may be free from the unforgiveness that (hear me now) threatens your salvation.

This is why almost every time that I am blessed to preach to our youth I touch on “race” and “forgiveness” because we don’t need to raise another generation to have unforgiving hearts like the adults who bring them to and teach them in church to be “unforgivers” and therefore not passing on the truth that GOD will NOT forgive them if they don’t forgive others as Christ has forgiven them which is COMPLETELY and without “strings attached”.

I praise BOTH of these brothers because they truly understand what Jesus meant when He commanded us to forgive and I pray for this understanding to come to all of Jesus’s “followers”.
