What “giants” are you facing today that are holding you back from healing your body, mind, and/or spirit?

Be it family issues, the recurrent “I can’t do it” attitude, the giant that is a lack of self worth, the giant “I’ve tried everything and nothing works”, or the dreaded giant of apathy. NONE of these “giants” can stand up to the God of the Universe..so face them as the prince/princess that you are as a child of the “King” and “heir/heiress” to the “throne”!

You are “fearfully and wonderfully made” by God to do great things and no “giant” can stand against you thus you will NOT fail if you don’t give up.

So on this day that the Lord has made I cheer you on as you pick up your stone, sling it with all your might, and slay your “giants” (especially the ones that try to “kill your keto”) and I pray that you cheer me on as I do the same to slay mine. Have a blessed day!!

The problem here (referring to the Democrat agenda for California in the attached link) for the “Christian” who continues to vote Democrat “no matter what” is that this mindset represents the national leadership of the Democrat party and they keep it under wraps because they know that if their voters knew the full extent of what they truly believe then they would be in trouble so they put on a “we are a friend to the Christian” poker face in public nationally while behind the scenes they do everything that they can to weaken Christianity.

What I’m saying here refers ONLY to what I a former Democrat know from personal experience and does NOT infer any allegiance with or emboldens a response that I view the Republican leadership much better.

What I’m saying is that this leadership to include President Obama whether you like it or not approves of this agenda to silence Christianity or any form of conservatism while pretending to be tolerant when the unbiased and sans partisan individual that is not blinded by party loyalty can plainly see the truth.

California has ALWAYS been the “bell cow” leading the Democrat party’s agenda and since that has not changed I fail to see how any Christian that confers allegiance to this part cannot understand that they are in affect when casting a ballot for this agenda that they are casting a ballot for their actual belief to practice their faith as guaranteed by the Constitution and it is THEM that are doing it to themselves because they blindly trust this leadership because they SAY that they are for minorities, etc.,

Again, before I get any comments that I have to delete inferring that I’m pushing a Republican agenda know that as a Christian Independent Constitutionalist that I view BOTH parties with great disdain as they BOTH have strayed far from living up to their sworn oath to “support and defend the Constitution” of this country.

Most of what I see coming from both parties these days are designed to work around the tenants of the Constitution so that these mostly career politicians can accrue and hold onto power while keeping the “masses” who are trying to live daily, ordinary lives unware of their wealth-grabbing, in-Constitutional ways.

I digress….

Lastly, it has been the Democrat agenda to remove any and everything “God” from any and everything that we do one little step at a time and again…I am what I refer to as an “ole skool Democrat” and though I wasn’t a Christian back then I was always baffled that so many of the policies that were presented by the National Party headquarters was so “anti-Christian” in nature and it was ONLY about 20 years later after I gave my life to Christ that my eyes were opened to the truth (not only Democrats but ALSO ALL politicians and political agendas but I castigate Democrats here because nationally they continue to lie about their agenda and fool their constituents. Repubs do too TBF).

Something that God has placed on my heart the past couple of days that He asked me to pose to those who “follow” Him.
Are you really obedient? Are you really obedient to His word?

My heart breaks when I see people due to political preferences, political party, or simply because they “hate” the current president who was elected YET cannot bring themselves to pray for him as God instructs us to.

And please don’t get “Holier than thou” since many who support President Trump (may God richly bless and protect him and his family) failed to do the same under President Obama (may God richly bless him and protect him and his family) and would not pray for him for the same and other reasons.

This does not mean that we have to walk in agreement with their policies, leadership styles, when they lie, when they commit evil (ALL “MEN” DO…yes, even Pres Obama and Pres Trump), or their policies.

But what it DOES mean…and if you want to know the truth AS GOD has placed on my heart the past couple of days (though I’m only posting this NOW…should’ve been yesterday) due to disobedience that there are many of you who profess Christ as Lord that during the past administrations and now during the current administration continue to go far past political discussions with your jokes about the authority that God has either placed or allowed to placed over us (some of you are laughing yet God is NOT amused).
He specifically brought me back to the “racial” and other jokes about President Obama and He has shown me the SAME with the “racial” and other jokes about President Trump that “Christians” have been publicly making then and now and even worse with a NASTY and “stinking in HIS nostrils” pride that has reached His throne that HIS people should grow OR be growing past…but they are not…and this is your warning (now you may understand my disobedience in putting off writing this one for a day or so).

If this is You (as it has been me in the past) GOD (not me) wants you to repent, ask for forgiveness, and begin to act like HIS children who are “called” by HIS Name instead of continuing to behave like the people who are trapped in this world.

Lastly, the scriptures below testify to what God has put in my heart in this writing and He SPECIFICALLY has a word for the one who scoffs at this post with the attitude “who does this n—– think he is?” AND the one who has committed this act against His word yet pridefully ask…”surely not me? Or…”Trump is awful, un-Godly, doesn’t support MY values or beliefs so it’s okay to make fun of him” or President Obama was/is is awful, un-Godly, doesn’t support MY values or beliefs so it’s okay to make fun of him”.

Let me assure you that God has told me that this “pride” is the kind that “kills” and it is NOT about accepting your President or not it is about OBEDIENCE IN AND TO HIM and if you CANNOT bring yourself to do as He says then WHO is truly YOUR god?…it surely cannot be Jesus.

Let that sink in, pray about it, and I bid you peace as NOW I have peace because I myself have done HIS bidding in posting this (I ask forgiveness Lord and will do better with your strength).

Scriptures:

1 Timothy 2:1-3(NKJV):

Pray for All Men

2 “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, andgiving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,”

Proverbs‬ ‭21:1-4‬ (‭NKJV‬‬):
1 “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts.
3 To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
4 A haughty look, a proud heart, And the plowing of the wicked are sin.”

Love over Fear

(Devotional from “Shaken” Discovering your true identity by Tim Tebow-Day 3 of five)
For Jesus, giving His life in return for our freedom from sin was a daunting task. In fact, on the night before He was to be crucified, He wrestled with God, His Father, while praying in the Garden of Gethsemane: “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me” (Luke 22:42).
It’s evident His heart was torn between doing what He knew was necessary and being shadowed by the fear of what it required. In fact, the Bible says that Jesus “being in agony… was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground” (Luke 22:44).
Jesus wasn’t in agony over a little something; He was sweating drops of blood. That is a big deal! While I’m sure He was partly afraid of the physical torture that was coming, there was a greater fear. His crucifixion also meant separation from God.
He would bear the entire weight of the world, of my sin and yours, on the cross. And that meant that until His resurrection, His heavenly Father would turn His back on His Son. That perfect relationship would be severed. Physical torture is one thing, but abandonment can hurt even more.
So Jesus asked His Father if maybe, just maybe, there was another way. Yet, He didn’t park on that thought for a long time. Jesus’s prayer quickly continued, and He ended His tear-filled plea with the following: “Yet not My will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42). This is what needs to be done, so I’ll do it.
Fear doesn’t make you give your life for someone else. Fear doesn’t make you run into a burning building to save your child. Oh sure, you may hightail it into that building afraid that something bad is going to happen to your kid, but your love for that child will overwhelm that fear.
Fear doesn’t make you take a bullet for someone. But love does. Let love dominate, the kind of love that we choose over our feelings, over peer pressure, over our selfish desires, over our fears, and over our disappointments.
When you want to be the most powerful or the strongest you can be, always choose love over fear.
What are you scared about today? How can you act out of love in that area of your life instead of out of fear?

‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:17-18‬ ‭MSG:
“God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day—our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love.”

I’m always amazed at how we “Christians” seemingly lose our minds when the world rejects us.

Does not the Bible teach us that they (the world are) most certainly will, reject “us” because they reject Jesus.

If it’s not a Christmas cup it’s us getting mad because our neighbor doesn’t like us saying Merry Christmas or spotting that “Jesus talk” .

Yesterday, Jesus placed in my heart that if “we” used some of this energy to feed the poor, help the single parent next door, help, the homeless person down the street, or even simply take the time to preach the gospel to,the lost instead of getting so,angry about these things of which many do not really matter we would not look so hypocritical in the world’s eyes which is a bigger problem than being denied a “proper” Christmas cup ever will be…and it is “we” that made that problem…not the world.

I digress…

Yes, I understand that we are in this country talking about a “right” that is being denied us under our Constitution and yes I understand that seemingly every other religion can speak freely about their god (or lack of god) so we must do all that we can being led by the Holy Spirit to preserve these “right’s.

However, it is the spirit of how we represent those rights that should be concerning to the follower of Christ.

Daily I witness some of the nastiest vitriol coming from the mouths of Christians or via their social media platforms against people who “know no better” due to the absence of Jesus in their hearts and we must repent and with zeal do much better in this area.

I believe in “righteous anger” and if what I am seeing was true “righteous anger” then I would keep my big, beautiful lips closed on this matter and I further surmise that Jesus would not have convicted me of my silence on this matter to some of my brothers and sisters who have good intentions but are fighting these fights in the wrong way when they return hate for hate instead of hate with love (heck, I’m writing this fully aware that I have MUCH room to grow in this area so don’t trip with me…this is Jesus talking here).

So with that being said I will share with you the scriptures that we MUST keep in mind as we assert our constitutional rights in defending our faith (some of us are not defending it but are using it as a weapon which turns some away…not good).

So from my Bible reading today Jesus Himself teaches us how to act in love when confronting these issues and I pray that His words convicts and yet strengthens you as much as it did me today…be blessed and I Love YOU!!!

Matthew‬ ‭10:12-37‬ ‭(MSG‬‬):

“When you knock on a door, be courteous in your greeting. If they welcome you, be gentle in your conversation. If they don’t welcome you, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way. You can be sure that on Judgment Day they’ll be mighty sorry—but it’s no concern of yours now.

“Stay alert. This is hazardous work I’m assigning you. You’re going to be like sheep running through a wolf pack, so don’t call attention to yourselves. Be as cunning as a snake, inoffensive as a dove. “Don’t be naive. Some people will impugn your motives, others will smear your reputation—just because you believe in me. Don’t be upset when they haul you before the civil authorities. Without knowing it, they’ve done you—and me—a favor, given you a platform for preaching the kingdom news! And don’t worry about what you’ll say or how you’ll say it. The right words will be there; the Spirit of your Father will supply the words.

“When people realize it is the living God you are presenting and not some idol that makes them feel good, they are going to turn on you, even people in your own family. There is a great irony here: proclaiming so much love, experiencing so much hate! But don’t quit. Don’t cave in. It is all well worth it in the end. It is not success you are after in such times but survival. Be survivors! Before you’ve run out of options, the Son of Man will have arrived.

“A student doesn’t get a better desk than her teacher. A laborer doesn’t make more money than his boss. Be content—pleased, even—when you, my students, my harvest hands, get the same treatment I get. If they call me, the Master, ‘Dungface,’ what can the workers expect?

“Don’t be intimidated. Eventually everything is going to be out in the open, and everyone will know how things really are. So don’t hesitate to go public now.

“Don’t be bluffed into silence by the threats of bullies. There’s nothing they can do to your soul, your core being. Save your fear for God, who holds your entire life—body and soul—in his hands. “What’s the price of a pet canary? Some loose change, right? And God cares what happens to it even more than you do. He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head! So don’t be intimidated by all this bully talk. You’re worth more than a million canaries.

“Stand up for me against world opinion and I’ll stand up for you before my Father in heaven. If you turn tail and run, do you think I’ll cover for you?

“Don’t think I’ve come to make life cozy. I’ve come to cut—make a sharp knife-cut between son and father, daughter and mother, bride and mother-in-law—cut through these cozy domestic arrangements and free you for God. Well-meaning family members can be your worst enemies. If you prefer father or mother over me, you don’t deserve me. If you prefer son or daughter over me, you don’t deserve me.”

“First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.”
Romans 1:8

In this verse, Paul praises the faith-filled Christians living in Rome. At first glance, it’s easy to miss the historical significance of Paul’s admiration. Consider this: Rome was a perverse culture-a modern-day mixture of Vegas and Hollywood, if you will. At the time of this writing, around 56 AD, Rome’s extravagant society was focused on self-pleasure rather than service. As a result, they marginalized the sick and elderly, and they even discarded their unwanted infants. Sound familiar?

Now imagine a group of these same selfish people believing in something deep enough to change their lifestyle. With Jesus’ love in their heart, and the knowledge of His Good Samaritan message to care for the less fortunate, they took it upon themselves to help the poor, sick, and destitute. No wonder the Christians stood out. Their actions altered the ethical temperature of Rome. And Paul, living some 600 miles away in Corinth, Greece, marveled at their reputation spreading throughout the world. What sacrifice! What faith! What a reflection of Christ to live out Jesus’ second commandment to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:39).

Our spiritual reputation is what others think when they hear our name. What message are we conveying to those around us: selflessness, humbleness, and unconditional love? One of the best parts of following Christ is that He is always refining our reputations. He gives us opportunities when He whispers for us to invite someone to church, help a neighbor in need, or simply offer a listening ear to a hurting friend. When we become the hands and feet of Jesus, people take notice. We look different. Act different. And that’s when barriers are torn down and doors are opened for us to share why we believe what we believe.

We profess our faith by sharing what God’s doing in our lives, serving others, and following His internal nudges on our heart. Our neighbors are watching. Our co-workers, childcare providers, even our waiters and waitresses observe our behavior, whether we realize it or not. What evidence of faith is Christ stirring in you to help shape your spiritual reputation?

Tony Griffin

Tonight we had a climax to the series concerning the Holy Spirit based on the book by John Bevere.

At the conclusion of Pastor Rusty speaking we then prayed for people of all ages to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and there were many who did and many who will since not all receive it immediately.

Since I am a youth leader and since my heart is so much attuned by God into pouring into our youth I prayed mostly with our young people and as Pastor Rusty said my initial prayer for all of them was for them to receive the Holy Spirit which is freely given to us all as brothers and sisters in Christ as a free gift and is available for us all to receive…if we’ll simply receive it.

However, there was something else that happened as I prayed for these beautiful souls, God placed time after time, prayer after prayer, person after person a word that I felt came straight from the Holy Spirit through my lips and right into their hearts.

That word was for them to “not let the “doubt” that you secretly face each day distract you from your destiny” and “think of your doubt as fertilizer that will make your Spirit grow and soar as long as you continue to put your faith in God so stop fearing it and every time it slaps you in the face give it up to God through prayer and allow it to grow you into a deeper, more complete relationship with Jesus”.

We oftentimes in a faux type of faith feel that if we doubt that we’ve somehow missed the mark yet tonight God used this man…me…to pray a prayer to many who doubt to realize that though they often doubt God He NEVER doubts them and that their doubt NEVER affects His love or plans for them and it is only when THEY allow their doubts to become bigger in their eyes than their God is that doubt can have any lasting affect on their lives BECAUSE GOD HAS OVERCOME ALL THINGS….INCLUDING YOUR DOUBT!

Now tonight was about praying for the young but as soon as I came home I had the normal pressure to put keystrokes to digital interface as I often do when God wants me to impart what He has imparted to me to benefit us all and there are some of my brothers and sisters who face “doubt” daily and though you put up a good front for your brothers and sisters as well as the world to see, you often feel defeated and hopeless in your “doubt”…..but GOD!

God wants you to know that He is and always will be bigger than your “doubt” and He is not offended when you “doubt” Him (even the disciples who walked with him did) but what He does not want is for you to live IN that doubt and as it is with anything else…bring it to the altar at His feet so that He can deal with it as He does with all things and that is to wash it away “white as snow” and until you’re able to fully receive it, grant you the patience that you will need to wait on Him until He grows you in this area.

Finally, stop beating yourself up about your “doubt”!

Jesus specifically wanted me to let you know that you are His beautiful creation and that He has awesome plans for you and neither the enemy nor your little “doubts” can do a darn thing to stop them.

He loves you today with an unquenchable love and He is so proud of you even though you have “doubt” because of the issues that you deal daily with and because of the sin that at times so besets you that makes you falsely think that there is no way that God can love you.

He does and He always will so get off of that “pity pot”, get on your face and pray to not take away the doubt but to walk you through and grow you from it so that you can teach others who struggle in this area, and give Him thanks/praise for revealing this to you and working it out for your good!

Be blessed from your “brotha” from “anotha” “motha”!

Ron “Big Black” Garrett

P.S. – This is something that I have struggled mightily with in my walk which is probably why God had me pen this tonight.
