Jackie Joyner Kersee once said “it is better to look ahead and prepare than to look back and regret.”

As Christians we need to from time to time look back at where God has brought us from so that when we provide our testimony we give hope to those who are In likewise situations so that they know that God is with them in all things.

But far too often we as brothers and sisters in Christ can fall into the trap of an almost worship of our past focusing on it more than where God is taking us to.

The truth is that our past and present circumstances are simply a vehicle that the Lord uses to get us to our final destination and it is “we” who allow ourselves to be distracted from the grand reward that awaits us at the end of this earthly journey via worry, doubt, unbelief, and mistrust of God (don’t worry though..He knows all of this and STILL loves us and is with us in ALL things!).

So today I encourage you to look back ONLY when you need to but to spend more time enjoying this wonderful journey that we are on by spending your time looking forward to what God has in store for you…it is well worth it and a more awesome way to spend your time.

He loves you insatiably and has many great and wonderful “plans” for you!!!!

Trust Him today with your future as He grows you into whom HE desires you to be using the proverbial fertilizer that IS your past as the fuel to do so.

He is perfect and is worthy of your praise and worship so take a moment to simply thank Him for not only what He has done for you but for Who He is.

My prayer for you today is that you realize how much He truly loves you and He proved as much by providing His One and only Son as a perfect sacrifice so that you may not die but live!

Blessings from the “Big, Black Dude”!
